Elephant Hill to the Confluence! Canyonlands, Utah

After not having much luck in Colorado doing Black Bear Pass, we decided it was time to head West to git rid of the rain and cold. Our fist stop was to be Elephant Hill to the Confluence in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. Elephant Hill is a pretty fun off road trail that climbs right up and over the cliff right at the road and continues for miles. There are a couple options including going over to the Joint Trail, about a mile hike into a really neat maze of cracks in the rocks that you can hike, or shimmy through. Another destination from Elephant Hill is to go over and see the Confluence where the Colorado and the Green river meet. Now that was a really awesome sight! Turns out the Green river is really green and the Colorado is really reddish brown making it quite the sight to behold where they come together!

I always have trouble with scrambled eggs. But ever since I started spraying my pan with WD-40 my eggs never stick!

The pole at the ranger booth is just about the perfect example of our Government stupidity. Thanks for putting that in there...I laughed so hard at that.

I live in Utah and I have watched a LOT of videos made in Canyonlands NP, but this one is by far the best one I have ever watched. I enjoyed the views and the commentary sooo much that I am going to go into the living room and get my wife to watch it with me on the big screen. The road to the confluence is one that for years I have seen on my map program and thought I would like to ride out there in my 2003 stock Jeep. THAT IS NOT HAPPENING! I had no idea how rough it was. Thanks for a really GREAT video. I love your channel.I have never been cluster phobic but that crack freaked me out a little just watching you squeeze through it. Keep the great videos coming.

I got the major heebee jeebes watching you squeeze through that crevice. Getting stuck in a place like that is one of my biggest fears in the world, and why I don't do tight caves.

I wish I could afford a Jeep like yours. I’m a disabled veteran and I have a stock 2003 Ford Lariat 4x4. I’m living vicariously through you. Thanks for the awesome videos!!!

That meal heater was like an MRE on steroids, but somehow the pizza looked even less appetizing than an MRE haha

Wow... the park service has added a lot of concrete to the hill, and fill to the Devils Pocket ( the slot Canyon you drove down), since I was last there spring of 2018. I first drove the hill in a CJ2A in 1966, weren’t as many restrictions then.

I love this area in Canyonlands, hiked and camped in 1992 and 1995. Planned to do the elephant trail but having scouted a way, decided better not chance damaging our hire vehicle! Landscape so awesome. Especially coming as I do from Shropshire England ! Love the video guys.
