Rendering texture-heavy scenes is now much more memory-efficient. Using System Memory for Textures lowers GPU memory usage significantly with little impact on performance. This is a new implementation of Out Of Core Textures. Add incredible detail to your scenes without sacrificing shading quality.

It's surprising how many people have overlooked vray GPU. It's currently the state-of-the-art in production rendering, packed with versatility and a multitude of functions that outshine Redshift or Octane this simply tick on option solved the memory problem on gpu render where Redshift suffered. Times have changed, Redshift has fallen behind after being merged with maxon, vray GPU is now the king in the hill. FACT!!!!

What does the future entail for VrayGPU when Vantage seems to take the spotlight and attention right now? Shouldn't they be merged into a single product, considering they kindof overlap?

Does this increase render time? I would assume yes, since the textures need to be transferred to the much slower system memory. It would have been nice if this was mentioned in the video.
