I was recently very fortunate to have a Fuji X100F to use for a couple of weeks and couldn't wait to get out on the streets and see what the camera could do!

Have you used an X100F before or something similar? Let me know what you thought ;)

Something gripped my gut when you put the camera through the railing bars on top of that building!

Hey, I am also a professional photographer and I was looking for a camera to engage my curiosity whean I'm "off duty" and the Fujifilm X100F made me in love with photography all over again. I am never going to let this one go...

I just picked mine up for $900 in Silver 10/10 condition with the manuals, box, and extra accessories. Such a beautiful camera. I was going to get the X100V but the price is not worth it and I really like the D-Pad on the F because they remove the D-Pad in the V.

Great review, Ross. I cut my teeth on an Olympus OM10 and 50mm lens forty years ago and still use and enjoy it today, but for some years I've wanted a modern digital camera that's light, portable, inconspicuous and gives me that same satisfaction of 'proper' old style controls. Thankfully I found it in the X100T. I don't need tilting screens, great video, interchangable lenses nor extra attachments that I need to carry with me. The 100T more than meets my needs and is such a joy to use every time I pick it up. Hopefully it will serve me well for the next forty years.

I did seriously consider this camera, however I am now thinking of the Fuji XE3 plus the 27mm pancake lens which still makes for a very neat package. I found the focusing on the XE3 to be much faster and the option of switching lenses is available to me, even if I rarely do it.

The x100s was my first mirrorless camera. It was basically my gateway into fuji, so fair warning ;)

I pretty much agree with your assessments. One additional benefit is that the camera that I *love* is the leaf shutter lens in it. It's what makes it super quite. It also allows you to trigger a flash at 1/2000 sec without high-speed sync. Oh, and since nothing is flapping up, I find I can hand-hold at slower shutter-speeds even though the lens doesn't have OSS.

One knock I do have on the camera is that at f/2, the lens can be soft if the subject is close to the lens. I just step it down to f/4 and compensate with higher ISO and sharpness achieved.

Hi Ross.I bought the Fuji x100 t a few months ago, second hand. It is an amazing little piece of gear that has given me the joy of pure photography again. The retro looks, the dials and the aperture ring ! I take it with me everywhere or just about. The fixed lens makes me think more about composition and challenges my creativity. The only thing I do not particularly like about it is the Evf, although that of course helps nailing the exposure first time and for the composition and a more live like view one can switch to the optical viewfinder. I shoot in raw and never have to tweak the colours in lightroom. Have you shot in jpegs ? I hear those files are great too.Like you I have the Canon 5d III but now I only use it for photography in low light conditions such as concert photography or indoor dancing. Mind you, it is still a fantastic camera and when I upgraded from the Canon 50d a whole new world opened up for me.

Excellent review ... 100% agree with every aspect. Personally I find the lack of tilting screen particularly annoying coming from the XT1 and XT10 but otherwise awesome.

I have used one and looking back at my images in LR I think I may buy another as the new X100 comes out

great content: high effort, production quality, knowledgeable and entertaining. although the sub count may not be where it should, don't get discouraged in your work, because it's very good stuff.

I have the little brother, X20. There are a couple of other cameras I have that are more modern and have more features, but that little Fuji feels so good in the hands. I wonder if mechanics get that feeling with a quality wrench (spanner).

I think I'd still rather go with the XT20 if I were getting into Fuji. I think it's about as pocketable as the X100F and if you put the 23 f/2 on the front you are getting the same images but you get an articulated screen and the option to switch lenses if you feel the need. Probably runs about the same price too. No joystick though.

I have a Fuji X100F and use it for street photography also. It”s a superb camera. I also use the Ricoh GR II (digital, not film). Since you’ve used the film version Ricoh, I wondered if you’ve tried the digital version. IMO, it’s even sharper than the Fuji, especially closeup at full aperture.

Snap! Same situation have a DSLR Nikon D750 but I leave it behind at times due to the weight and effort with lenses etc. Bought the Fuji X100F after much debate over the XT2 going down in price. Stuck with my needs of a discrete lightweight silent travel camera for street photography mainly which is better quality than my phone. I really enjoy the free feeling it gives me. To work a shot and think more on the composition. Maybe over time I might want more lens choice and if that becomes the case i would look into the Xpro 3 possibly, but then that opens a can of worms on my Nikon. Keeping it simple might be the best option. I do love the retro look too. Fuji colors come out great as well as that Acros simulation!!

Keeping Exposure Comp in C and using front dial seemed to work better for me. The C position seemed a tighter position and less likely to be knocked.

First thing I notice on the black version is the useless flash. Pulls you eye right to it. I found some 1/4 black tape at an arts & crafts store and the flash disappeared. Looks so much better and more discrete..
