Very insightful, thank you.
Your view on ball position accords to a large extent with Jack Nicklaus' method of ball position : keep it opposite left heel for all clubs but varying stance width depending on length of club.

This video was especially helpful to me. In the past I placed the ball based on where my back foot was (too wide a stance). I always felt like I had to strike the ball behind me. Only been doing the stack at tilt for a few weeks and scores have gone from mid 90’s to mid 80’s and am certain more improvement will continue - - FINALLY!! Thanks.

Great insight for me that as I change the width of my stance, I change the position of my shoulder and therefore the low point of the swing. Thanks

Thanks Nick, I was one who had asked for the adjustments made from an iron to a wedge...good stuff.

The ball position and changeable stance width speaks volumes to me. I’ve never understood how you can possibly get the correct ball position out on a golf course depending on club being used without using some form of visual alignment. I play everything out of the centre of my stance and adjust my feet width in relation (only exception is driver).

My feel on set up is left ear over the ball for every iron which keeps my centre point consistent. I even set up hitting my 17 degree hybrid out of the centre and the strike and consistency is remarkable.

Since I’ve changed to using elements of stack and tilt I’ve seen not only an increase in distance but a completely different ball flight. The ball now starts low and continues climbing.

Great video and well explained 👍🏻

Great video Nick! How far do you stand from the ball for 7 iron and wedge? Some teachers say the hands should be a fist apart from the belt. Would really appreciate your take on this piece. Thank you!

Nick, would you say it feels like the arms move before the body in the S&T swing?

The release of power accumulator two on the wedge swing to shallow it out - is that deliberate?

Nick, another great video. One question, when I am practicing on the range I am having problems with ball position. Do I set up with the ball on my left heel, than move the ball back?

Thanks,

Marcus

Ball position along the club line grid or on target line

That was informative. I obviously need to narrow my stance with the wedge. I have been using the same degree of separation of my feet for all shots. Does this apply to 9 & 8 irons too?

What is the loft of your wedge? Reason your carry was 89yards. Is this pitching wedge, gap wedge, sand wedge or lob wedge? Your help is appreciated. Great video.

do you have a video of how to find ballposition without the grid?

Thanks Nick the video helps me understand that the wedges stance where the feet are closer together results in the shoulder being pushed more fwd to create a steeper angle of attack. So if the 2 centres ie sternum & hips for a 7 iron are over the ball then for the wedges, as the shoulder moves more fwd to create the steeper angle of attack, the sternum centre must be slightly ahead of the ball.
