Rather tasty by the looks... I just visited friend in Tokyo and made a journey to an onsen town near Sapporo, and many times enjoyed those strawberry/cream sandwiches :>

I ordered from an izakaya for the Lunar New Year and was surprised at the treat; they provided mostly or pure wasabi in my order. Tasting it direct, it was noticeably not horse radish and was starting to oxidise. Getting mostly pure wasabi outside of Japan is rare. (I’ve had the root grated in front of me in Japan, that experience and taste was exquisite. My guess was that they were cutting the wasabi with a bit of horseradish but the taste was mostly wasabi.)

I could imagine how Kitkat bars might need to lean into the horseradish flavour a bit too much.

I live in the US and depending on where you live there are a few Asian markets and the most common Japanese KitKat flavors are strawberry and especially green tea.
