Did you know that Uni has a patent on the mechanism? Tell us your favorite Kuru Toga model in the comments!

For those of us allergic to silicon let me offer thanks to Jet Pens for stocking so many choices that don't involve that particular substance. I am also left-handed and prone to breaking lead so very happy to have these models that minimize lead breakage.

Lately I've been watching these videos for nothing but comfort. I love everything you show. I'm looking forward to buying a lot of these things as well.

I loved how Uni Kuru Toga has revolutionized and evolve the mechanical pencil as a whole by offering different models. Some of overengineered with a purpose. But there is something for everyone. Ever since Uni Kuru Toga sold its first mechanical pencil back in 2008. I bought 1 from Maido or somewhere that was available in the US. I use it for exams, and solving problems in math, and when I was going back to school in college especially Accounting and Finance. I just loved it. Then I upgraded to the Uni Alpha Switch and have the Advance at work. These are just awesome pencils. Thank you Jetpens for highlighting Uni's kuru toga.

I used this pencil and the Zebra DelGuard my entire high school career. Excellent stationary for note taking!

The rotation mechanism is great for doing math. I would have loved to have had one of these back when I was in school

I heard about this mechanism and when i searched, i was overwhelmed with the number of models! I chose the one that’s within my budget, and I’m glad it’s a W model! I use 2B leads too, so i guess i was lucky😂

I own one of these pencils, but I didn't know about all these other models. I think I may be in the market for the Dive, self extending lead!!! I love these single product reviews btw. I am a lover of many of the products you sell, but I don't always know why one line may be better for my needs then others. Thanks!

I am currently using the Advance Upgrade, but I did order the new Metal version from you last week. It'll be here Monday. Can't wait.

I have the Advance model and use it regularly in the office for sketches and calculations that aren't worth committing to ink. Yes, even in the days of CAD, a lot of engineering work happens with a pencil and paper. 😁

The balance and refined style make it worth showing off occasionally and writing with it is always a pleasure. I only wish the full metal models were available with the faster rotation mechanism. I'd snap one up in a heartbeat!

I have the 0.3 and 0.5 alpha gel switch options. The cushion really pays off for me when I'm writing. I also have a Del Guard which I never use any more because I like my 0.5 gel so much.

some of y'all in the comments are annoying me, so here's a story about why this mechanism is cool and important.

I am neurodivergent. one of my physical symptoms is that I grip my writing tools too tightly and press too hard. (this is why you will see very thick crayons marketed at nd teens+adults, a lot of us have trouble regulating pressure and grip.) I was undiagnosed until 4 years ago, meaning I spent my school years with horrific handwriting, using a pencil with lead that was too thick because at least it didn't break every five letters, having meltdowns when I tried to study because I literally couldn't read my own notes. It is beyond humiliating to realize at 16 years old that *you never learned how to use a pencil correctly.*

would this pencil have made me a straight-A student? of course not. would it have been an accessibility aid for me, and thus made school less traumatizing? absolutely. is it also kinda silly for people with excellent motor control to worry so much about Aesthetics that they buy pencils with innovative tech built in for always-precise lines? Yes.

anyway, I hope to try one of these some day. ❤️

“Your writing becomes thick and unsightly.” This level of handwriting snobbery almost made me pee my pants.😂😂😂😂

I have several of the Kuru mechanical pencils. I love the feel and how it writes . Of course, if I had extra cash, the top of the line would be a great choice!😊
