Congrats on your decision!

Even though I've previously said I wasn't going to modify my 2018 GT, now that I'm used to it, I'm considering a supercharger. I still won't be racing on the street or at the track, I'll just be doing some spirited pulls on the stock PP1 tires when the mood strikes me.

However, I would love it if after you get it installed and tuned, you could drive the car in each mode: normal, snow/wet, sport, track, and drag doing pulls with the traction control both on and off. It would be nice to know how it behaves in each mode, how well it works with the traction control system on the PP1 tires or equivalent, and if your tune properly supports each vehicle mode and transmission shift points.

Going fast at the strip is great, but showing that it can be fully trusted on the street is good information too and is never really fully addressed in other supercharger videos I've seen. The most I've seen is people commenting on how well it drives when not getting on it. To me, it's important to know what happens when you just punch it on the street in a non race mode on street tires. Will traction control save me from myself with a supercharger?

The thing that really attracts me to the Whipple stage 1 set up is fact that it's CARB certified and 50 state legal when using the stock exhaust, and the Whipple tune works properly with all vehicle modes, it maintains the knock detection safeties that can keep your engine from destroying itself should you get a bad batch of fuel that's not quite the octane level it claims to be, and it also works with the traction control system. For my personal goals, the Whipple tune is a huge advantage.

However, I love the Vortech's air/air intercooler and I love being able to keep the PP1 strut tower brace, but I fear that Vortech's tune, or a custom tune won't work well with every vehicle mode and may sacrifice knock detection safeties or work poorly with the traction control system. It would be nice to know those things about the tune you get.

Anyway, congrats again on your decision!

Smart choice. Centrifugal chargers don’t over heat as much as roots or twin screw blowers, they make more mid to top end power and when your cruising they aren’t making any boost and straining the engine all the time like a roots. At 2k the roots is making full tq so the engine is always under load and the roots fall on their face after 5k the Vortech or procharger will keep pulling and when they hit they hit so hard it will scare you in a good way.

Good choice! Positive displacement blowers put a lot more stress on engines with stock internals due to it always being in the boost. Vortech will also run cooler (no heat soak) than PD blowers, and allows for more traction off the line due linear power curve. The Procharger D-1X kit would've been another good choice too.

93 octane, full exhaust, a BAP and injectors, 11psi of boost you’ll probably make around 700-730whp

Congrats. It will definitely feel like a whole different car. It can make some good power on E85, but like most said, you'd need more to beat the demon, and turbo would be best, especially with that auto. Regardless, good luck, and enjoy!

My 12 Huff's with a paxton. Can't go wrong. 9lbs on longtubes puts down 630 through a mt82. It rips. I went Beefcake for mine.
