I'm trying the new Trader Joe's Tiramisu so that you don't have to. I'm definitely going back to get some more so highly recommend.

I mean I think it’s all personal preference because it was enough cocoa powder for me. But either way I can’t complain bcus for grocery store tiramisu it’s pretty damn good for $2.25 a cup!!

I lowkey think the employees were just saying that so they couldn't also get their hands on it because of how fast it sells out! LMAO, I could be wrong, though but you never know!

Fun fact: the lack of coco powder isn’t trader joes fault actually. Theres been a decrease in chocolate and chocolate products b/c the harvest of cocao has been low. There is apparently a disease killing crop production or something like that. That's why if you'll notice.. chocolate products on the candy isle don't have as large a space as in previous years. Fruity and sour candies are taking priority.😊

Guys tiramisu is so easy and cheap to make, you can make a whole tray of it for the same price!!!
Here’s my recipe (btw I’m Italian and this is the recipe I perfected in the years):
For the cream use an electric whisk to whip up 5 egg yolks with 120g sugar, when the mixture becomes light in colour add 250g mascarpone and continue whipping. Then add a bit of cream (eye ball it: the mixture has to be creamy but not liquid) and some vanilla. Whip it up nicely and then put it in the fridge.
Make some strong espresso, at least two cups. The best would be to use a moka but if you don’t have one an espresso machine is completely fine. DO NOT use regular drip coffee, it’s not strong enough. If you really have no other way you can use instant coffee, it’s not ideal but it can work. Make it strong though.
QUICKLY dip the lady fingers in the cooled coffee and place them at the bottom of a 20x30cm tray. When you’re done with the first layer take out the cream you previously made and spread some of top of the ladyfingers. Keep on repeating this until you’re out of cream. The top layer should be cream. You’re going to need about 250g of ladyfingers but I suggest buying them in excess so that you’re sure to have enough for the whole pan.
Sprinkle the top of the tiramisú with cocoa powder (with no sugar in it) and you’re done!

As an European, I get major fomo seeing Trader Joe’s content. Wish I could have a store like that, they have so much good, healthy and convenient food 😭 especially their seasonal products omg

I know a lot of people who don’t like the tiramisu because of the excess cocoa powder, but as someone who occasionally eats fancy cocoa powder mix as is bc I like the taste and texture, it was perfect for me. Also just balanced out the sweetness more for me personally since I don’t have the biggest sweet tooth. I do agree with the complaints of soggy bottoms but considering it’s frozen and the price I don’t mind at all

The mascarpone and cocoa powder layer was delicious but they need to add sugar to the espresso before they put it over the ladyfingers. I couldn’t even eat that part. It was so bitter.
