Замечательная работа! Очень красивый, глубокий синий цвет циферблата!

Thank you so much for this! Following your example, I just removed the rotor and auto wind bridge from my Amphibia. I don’t have a different mainspring, so just using the original. Now just waiting on the flat caseback from Meranom.... I figured I might as well go ahead and do the mod and check for any accuracy deviation without the constant winding throughout the day.

Trying to work out why a manual wind conversion, the problem with Vossies is the driving wheel pair which are grubby from factory sometimes and cleaning the autoworks makes these super super reliable, I have two modern Amphibia's and both had murky driving wheels, both cleaned and both haven't let me down in years. All my Vostoks whether the 1947 and 1953 tiny Boctoks to the one I built a 090 radio room to the 710 and 160 I bought when Covid dropped the prices over in Russia, both the Soviet and post Soviet ones work as well as the day they were made. I have a 70's commander 2234, never been touched with a servicer tweezers and it still holds excellent time 50 years later :D

Looks beautiful but why would you want to turn an automatic to a manual?

This is a very beautiful sunburst blue dial. I will get one of these and try to do a similar mod on a 710.

Is that a Eulit perlon strap I see? 👀😃 love the video man. I’m sporting a Eulit perlon myself on my Amphibia 420380.

1. What is the original thickness and the current thickness

2. Where did you get the case back from and does the water resistance remain the same?

This is exactly what I want to have! Could you just use a manual Komandirskie movement or some modding to fit it in the Amphibia case would be needed?

Speaking about thickness, do you know why when Vostok went from hand-wound to automatic, they not only started using thicker case backs, but also increased the thickness of the case itself as well by about 1mm (going from case type 020 to 420)?
After all, automatic movements can also fit inside the thinner 020 cases, provided one uses one of the thicker case backs instead.

Looks incredible!! A few months ago I bought an Amphibia Radio Room on ebay that someone modded to a manual wind and it has the same caseback mod you installed! I wonder if they learned from you? Or if I bought from you perhaps??

А что внутри заменил, что раскидал весь механизм? Циферблат, стрелки, Базель, а внутри что?

That's a great video! I have a very loud Parnis auto. What would happen if I just remove the rotor? Because I don't have your skills to do more :-)

The only thing you replaced was the mainspring from the 2409 or 2414 movement?

That’s a great mod! What kind of bezel it is? Would it fit to Amphibia case version 120? Where did you buy this bezel?

Can be movement 2415b (small seconds on left) modded for hand winding? What parts have to be changed? :)

Nice video. What are the advantages to converting an automatic to a manual wind?
