I know people that used to be edgelord gamer types a few years ago (atheistic, degenerate, nihilistic, liberal-minded), and that are currently not only religious, but actually invested in a real Christian life (one of them is tradcath, the other orthodox, and I'm a catholic that wants to convert to Orthodoxy).

If you told me this would happen 5 years ago, I would have laughed at you. But here we are; from degenerate atheist coomers to (hopefully) pious christians, in a short time frame. It's definately happening.

Although it's true that many people are just adhering to it as an ideology, specially with trad catholicism and Islam, there is also a huge chunk of people that are taking it seriously, so it's definately not some internet trend as many make it seem. Eventually, many of those people (who are probably 13 year olds), will grow out of the internet weirdness and embrace an authentic religious experience (and hopefully the islam bros will come to the truth of Jesus Christ).

The reason for the incipient shift is simple in my opinion: Society has become completely grey and nihilistic after the boomer generation, and young people want more for their lifes than what has been offered. We reached a peak of relativism and absurdity as a society, that everybody is like "yeah, this is not it", and starts looking for awnsers.

Good channel and good videos, keep it up M8.

Bro don't be shy about making videos on different topics. Not every channel has to be professionally done and categorised and so on; there's something special about channels based on individuals instead of specific topics, nothing wrong with having a blog/vlog.

Maybe one day, YouTube'll add tagging so people can filter out what they're not interested in from their subscriptions, but you'd be surprised how many people just enjoy seeing 90–100% of what you post, and enjoy the eclectic nature of the videos, and may even share 90% or more of your interests (which only makes your channel more special; better to appeal strongly to 10k than be barely worth watching by 1m).

The example about religion knowing the benefits of gratitude thousands of years before science seems a bit cherry picked to me. You also mentioned NoFap, which is not something that the scientific community generally advocates for in terms of obvious health benefits.

I'm 19, similar to you, but I see it in a slightly different way. I understand all the benefits from religion and all the benefits you listed are true. I also like how you brought up the idea that many of the beliefs of religions are then proven beneficial by science. And your pathway to god through self-improvement is the exact same as a friend of mine.

But I don't understand why you don't separate the two things. You can get all the benefits that religion has through different means, often with better results. And then avoid all the teachings that are negative about religion. Furthermore, you can then look at religion in a more critical way, from my perspective there isn't any evidence of a higher being or sacred presence. Also, a ton of the stories from religion in my view are clearly fake and untrue (so more so than others), making me not believe in religion more.

“1) When the help of Allah comes, and the victory, 2) and you see the people entering into Allah's religion in crowds, 3) then glorify your Lord with praises and seek His forgiveness; he is certainly ever-accepting of repentance.” — Qur'an translation, chapter 110.

Yeah, if the Christian God made the world, the self-improvement science would align pretty well with Christianity.

Hey Mashed
I want to have a chat about what made you choose christianity over islam.
So how can i contact you?

Edit: the reason i want to have a conversation is that i researched religions just like you did altho i chose islam and you seem like a reasonable person (ie: looking for the truth just like me)
