I bought stainless steel anchor points for the poles. The nylon ones that came with my top I use for the straps

Great video and tips. Just got a 15 ft bay boat and getting a Bimini soon.

I don't like just relying on screws either. Especially for something like a Bimini top that's gonna be exposed to force like wind. I'm a big fan of through bolts, fender washers and lock nuts (nylocks).

I just put a cheap T top shade on my boat. I'll be lucky if this thing survives a year😂 the tower supports are made of 1" aluminium tubes and the mounts were to short to mount directly to my console. I had to create 3/4" pads out of star board to attach to my console then attach the mounts to them. I still have to make two more mounting points on the console with 1" pads. I hated drilling into my deck for the deck cleats. I wouldn't have minded drilling for a better T Top but this thing is cheap as hell. I spent $280.00 on it so I get what I paid for. I just didn't have the money to get a better one and I live in Florida with a porcelain white wife😂. I got what I could afford.

Thanks for posting this. I just bought this and I’m installing on my Seadoo speedster that tapers to 4” narrower in the back. Do you know how the width can be adjusted? Bend, cut, both?

I am so impressed of your DIY 40 dollars shade project and about to go buy the materials and start. Now I see your bimini video. Honestly, what is your experience did you find that after all the bimini is more practical than the DIY shade aside from the sense of accomplishment? Thanks!

Nice job. Creating and producing a how-to, informational video is not easy. Most of us have avoided making presentations and public speaking because it makes us uncomfortable. Without the benefit of repetition and a practiced script, making a concise presentation is not easy off the cuff. Generally, if there is nothing to say, keep it short and to the point. Limiting or reducing ‘um’s’ and ‘ah’s’ throughout is a good place to start. As an editor, we need to be brutal and hack away anything that doesn’t contribute to the message.

You have demonstrated how sometimes we luck out with, the cheap stuff. We should take note of the good finds from those mystery manufacturing names for future reference.

Great video, does this fold down when you don't want it. Like for trailering?

I was waiting for so long to see how it folds down at the back especially with that rear sold pole the video froze up near the end but I don't think there was time to show that. I know title said install but part of the review could have been showing it function, meaning stowed away. Oh it played, it's not shown. It is what it is, lol.
