Ableton Live 11 is just around the corner. Here are the new features coming for Push 1 and Push 2. Some very nice additions, in short!
Timing:
00:00 Intro and Warm Up Waffle
00:52 MPE & Polyphonic Pressure with examples
05:33 Probability and two examples
11:49 16 Macros
12:39 Scales & Clips now linked bi-directionally
15:38 Recap (with a brief mention of Velocity Range)
A note: In my tiredness I used the term "Polyphonic Pressure" and while this fits with Push's terminology, the actual standard is usually described as "Polyphonic Aftertouch". Also, I skipped over Velocity Range in the main section of the video (after promising to it to you later lol). This was due to the short window in which I had to make this video, it didn't make it in and what I had recorded wasn't worth sharing - apologies! Velocity range is a setting you can adjust per-note (just like probability) and allows the velocity of the note to randomly move within a certain range. You start by setting the initial velocity of a note, either by playing it or programming it in, and then hold the note and select a positive or negative velocity range in which the note will randomly land. Sorry I missed this here, but it was a long day, and I realised quite late that this video might interest (hopefully) many.
My thanks to my students/WRKSHPers at WRKSHP, who through their support of my work at the school allow me to make time to make videos like these.
