"Velcome to my house. Enter of your own free will and feel free to make your toilet and refresh after your long journey from England."

I'm 43 but sometimes, i act like I'm free. I know, "toilet" meant hygenic refreshment of ones person and clothing.
But when else am i ever gonna get to hear Dracula talk about making one's toilet? Not in the Coppola film, that's for sure.

Thank you VERY MUCH for these narrations/readings. I use them often and surely sleep better as a result !

I'll admit to knowing that, at 61, I'm kind of "old-fashioned"!
And I genuinely don't feel great about complaining about any Free Audio-Books!
However this Dracula Audio-Book is, honestly, just dreadful!

Dracula is a book written by a Man and told from the perspective of the central character, the Male author of the "Notebook"!
So, just as I would Expect books written by the Bronte sisters to be narrated by a Female voice, I do rather Expect Mr.Stoker's most famous work to be narrated by a Male 'reader'!

Unfortunately the woman narrating this edition has decided or, more likely, been directed to not just "do" an English accent, but to also "do" a voice that's "Low & Slow"! - which totally distracts from the Content being read!
I tried several pages to try adjusting my ear & mind to her narration, even to the extent of changing up the "speed";
Listening with wired OTEar headphones (Sennheisers - so Not cheap rubbish!) JVC wired In-earphones and Samsung earbuds; Using different Devices - from Samsung mobile phones, to an Acer Tablet and LG/Toshiba 'Smart' TV.
Nothing changed the sound enough to have gotten me through even the 1st Chapter!

So, a personal complaint from Me, but nothing that will Stop me coming back over and over because, as a person with disabilities, I can no longer use physical books, so for several years now Audiobooks have kept me connected to my long-term love of reading (quite literally Anything - Even Instructions! Though only Afterwards –! because I'm still a Man after-all !)
3³So that's the Praise after the "brickbat"! And I trust it's received in the same way it's given, with honesty and a lot of gratitude!

Slán,
🖖☘️P0G🍀👍
