Okay, this is NOT a real example of a water test with Nexus 5. Stop shaking your phone every few seconds you put the phone under the tap.

Needless to say that this video is a joke. KEEP YOUR NEXUS AWAY FROM WATER. My nexus 5 was submerged in shallow sea water for over a minute. I took all the precautions to save the phone. Rinsed thoroughly with distilled water, then submerge it in 100% isopropyl alcohol for a minute (note that the alcohol partially removed the glossy lining off my white nexus's 5 side) and for last I let it dry in a sealed container full of rice under summer sun. Despite my efforts the phone now has serious display issues and non working digitizer. In other words, it's useless. So keep your phones safe, away from water. If you happen to have water damage I recommend to turn the phone off at once, remove the back cover to dry off the phone and follow the same procedure. This will void warranty but keep in mind that water damage isn't covered by warranty anyway. Do this at your own risk

How about I clear this up, I have a nexus 5 and it is not water proof

I dropped it in the toilet for a few seconds, used rice and vacuum

You have to put it completely underwater. You were only getting the screen wet. The screen is a layer of protection that you aren't going to damage by water. You have to get the entire phone wet for it to be a water test. Submerging it in a sink full of water would be a better test.

I dropped mine in the sink and accidentally performed almost an identical test. Only difference is that now charging doesn't always work.... :(

While putting a skinomi screen protector one drop off the liquid someone got incense under the screen now my phone is screwed, yet he runs it under water and it is fine
