He even bought her a house, the exact house that she was a maid at for years. This gift was still not enough and yet he never stopped loving and trying to provide for her once he found her soon after leaving foster care when he was old enough to do so. And to write this song for and about her and how sad he is that's she has died and still hoping one day to be reunited and wishing he could've done more while she was alive. This song has been played at every one of my family's funeral. Seeing the lyrics makes it so much mroe detailed, but the arrangement alone makes you feel the pain. We have singers and musicians in our family, so they always come and perform for our loved ones. Different versions of the song, yet just as powerful as the previous.
