The best upgrade I did in a long time! Large wheel up front gives a ton more traction and confidence in turns. I can turn a lot tighter, both up and down, actually..
The slightly slacker seat tube angle can easily be compensated by moving the seat a touch further forward.
Overall, love it. 27.5 wheel(s) and fork up for sale!

*Great frame and lightweight. **Latest.Bike** components were well adjusted out of the box. Great entry level bike for light off road use.*

Nice Video!
I am sold on mullet bikes. I plan to Mullet my Bronson with a Fox 38 and 170mm Fork. I used bike geo dot net to figure out the measurements. The benefits of a 29er front wheel is just too great not to do it. Also, a 27.5 rear will keep the playfullness of the Bronson. The Bronson is the funnest bike I have ever ridden but it would be so much more awesome with a 29er front wheel.

Stock Bronson with 160mm Fork (low setting and Fork Length of 550mm):
65.1 Deg HTA
75 Deg STA
BB Drop: 14mm
Chainstay: 430mm
Fork Rake: 44mm
Reach: 430mm
WB: 1191mm

Bronson with Cascade Link and 170mm (Fork Length of 560mm):
64.7 Deg HTA
74.6Deg STA
BB Drop: 11mm
Chainstay: 435mm
Fork Rake: 44mm
Reach: 425mm
WB: 1200mm

Bronson Mullet with Cascade Link and 160mm Fork (29er Fork increased "Fork Length" of 19mm from 27.5 Fork):
64.3 Deg HTA
74.2Deg STA
BB Drop: 8mm
Chainstay: 435mm
Fork Rake: 44mm
Reach: 426mm
WB: 1204mm

Bronson Mullet with Cascade Link and 170mm Fork (29er Fork increased "Fork Length" of 19mm from 27.5 Fork):
63.85 Deg HTA
73.75Deg STA
BB Drop: 5mm
Chainstay: 435mm

I made my Nomad into a mullet, I deal in used bike & Someone sold me A 29er with Fox 170mm Coil ACS3 so I couldn’t resist keeping them along with some other shiny bits

I believe !
I did it to my hardtail 29er. Allows for a 27.5 2.6 Shwalbe Rocket Ron on the rear. Better bike for trail riding instantly. Going to do it with the Merida One Forty. We just have to ditch the mullet name

I agree with the idea of the mullet. More like a Motorcycle.

Nice! You can actually run a mullet set up on a 29er...if you go 27.5x2.8. Im running my GT Sensor like that and it’s pretty fun. Better traction, a little easier handling, and it makes the bike feel a little more stable. Maybe try that on your Stumpy ST and let us know what you think?

I ride a mullet and really like it, it turns a 29 er into a more playful bike for me, and as you say it rolls over stuff way easier then the 27.5, mine is on a banshee prime. straight 29 my bike a little clumsy, straight 27.5 was great but not as fast as a mullet so many choices we have today its insane, good video thanks for sharing

I Mulleted my IBIS HD5. Reduced fork to 150mm and the Geo stayed almost identical to the original 27.5 HD5. So many more advantages compared to disadvantages. I think the question "Is a Mullet faster" is the wrong question. The question should be is it better and the answer for me is absolutely!!

Damn bro you have all the Santa Cruz lineups? Lol my girl got a 5010 and I think I'm going to do this to it.

Am weighing up weather to convert my 2015 reign to a mullet or simply get a new 29er one.

I came here cause Santa Cruz unveiled this bike with this setup for sale straight from dealer.

How would it be to put up a 27.5 wheel set instead of the 29er you put with a 29er fork for 27.5er frame?

With your experience with the Stumpy, which frame do you think would be best suited for the mullet configuration. What I like about the current SJs is that provide ample clearance for wide range of tires - literally.

Now if you could try it with 51 mm offset fork (or maybe a 46) you might find the sluggish tight turns are better. However, you trade some of that high-speed stable "feel." Messing with fork trail can be fun.

You measured both the frame and the forks with different results 60/65 but didn't show the measurement for the forks after you switched to the 29er front set up then mentioned how ranked out it was when riding. What was the measurement at the forks with the 29er setup? I'm going to guess 64°

That stem went from about 40mm of spacers to slammed with the lyric on. How did that feel?

how tall are you? what size frame do you ride? thinking about putting a 27.5 rear wheel on a 29 frame.

What was the travel of the 29er fork compared to the 27.5? Swapping out a 160 29er for a 160 27.5 is definitely going to upset your geometry. Typically you'd run a "shorter" travel 29er fork (150) in the front to help maintain geometry. You might even be able to get away with a 140mm but don't quote me on that. Curious as well the offset of the 29er fork compared to the 27.5. Thanks
