Let's talk:

INFO: Saturday Night Wrist is an album by the american alternative metal band deftones. It’s an album that has gained a lot of mixed reviews from their fans. A lot of people thought it was better than their previously released self-titled album, but not as good as their magnum opus White Pony. From here on a lot of fans placed the album pretty low on their favorite deftones albums lists. But if you take a look at the recent fan comments about the record, it seems like more and more people are starting to appreciate it. It makes me wonder, is this one of the best aged Deftones albums? In this video i’ll try to answer this question and sum up some of the history behind the record. This is a brief introduction to Saturday Night Wrist.

The breakdown in "Beware" is the best moment on the album.

Hole in the earth and Cherry waves are, for me, one of the most intense (about feelings) songs I ever heard. They are pure magic.

Would love to hear the story of, “Around The Fur”.

Diamond eyes hit me hard. Went back to SNW and "got" it. Both are A tier deftones records imo.

Saturday Night Wrist is the first album that got me into Deftones, but the first song ever I heard from them is Minerva, nowadays I listen to their whole discography, every each album is unique and I enjoy every bit of it. Long live Deftones!

Honestly, the band’s period from SNW to KNY has aged like fine wine, and it has most of my favorite tracks. There’s an excellent balance of atmosphere, complexity, and heaviness that just appeals to me! While KNY and Diamond Eyes are my favorite albums by them overall (I can’t decide between the two), both the self-titled album and SNW are heavily underrated by fans, and they deserve more love. There’s this nice little dynamic between the two albums that sort of expresses the lowest depths of struggle and then the subsequent healing from it in a way. Going from the droning tone of the self-titled album to the more experimental sound of SNW feels like an emotional obstacle that’s being overcome

In my opinion I believe self titled was amazing I loved the sound difference and the heaviness, idk why its so hated it has some bangers like needles and pins, bloody cape and hexagram

Dude, I feel like one of the few people who loved this album from its initial release...also, back in 2006 prior to the release of this album, deftones played a show In Tallahassee where they played most of this album. I didn’t realize how special of a show that was because afterwords I’ve rarely seen them play anything from this album.

I want Cherry Waves to be played at my damn funeral. Its one of the best songs they ever made.

This album is so emotionally raw. Its tumultuous background is transparent through the depth and mixture of styles and moods presented on the whole. It's probably a bumpy, confusing ride upon the first couple of listens for a lot of people (including myself), but there's no other way they could have put down what they were going through in this era. I love it more and more as I cycle through it. I love the sense of longing all throughout and the atmospheric, heady haze that lingers endlessly. Also Beware (best track on the album) is a devastating trip in the best way.

This is such a breathtaking, beautiful and bombastic record that's drenched in melancholy and soothes your soul. Rivière, Beware, Hole in the Earth, Cherry Waves, Combat, Rats! Rats! Rats!, Rapture wait pretty much the whole damn thing is great. Heck even Pink Cellphone is a solid track that flexes their experimental muscles a good bit. Top three Deftones record for sure next to the obvious classics.

There’s some kind of haunting beauty that this album possesses. It has this droney & dark hypnosis to it. Can only be explained by a thorough listen. The insanity of Rats! Breakdowns in Beware. The verses in Kimdracula. Too much fucking flawless gorgeousness.

Incredible album! You have to love the final jam after the feedback break at the end of "Beware"... Punishing and slamming finale!

When Saturday Night Wrist came out, I was one of the few at the time that actually loved it. Most people I talked to about that album didn't like it. I still do full rotations of that album from time to time.

SNW is a fuckin masterpiece. It's by far my favorite, and Beware, Kimdracula and Combat are my favorite deftones songs.
