You Dont own any of the digial media you buy online. From movies, tv show episodes and video games, books and music. Unless you buy it physically, it is not yours. If one of these companies go bankrupt, guess what.....your digital content goes down with it.

Good thing I buy old Physical copies of games. I tend to buy Physical and digital games for my Switch as well especially the ones with no internet required. I know PS5 Physical games are downloaded on the internet but there’s actually a rare amount that has the actual games on disk. Those are certain anime games but I won’t say much because Sony may try to force them to follow the trend of “Download from the store” crap. Physical over Digital is always my thing 😌!

DVDs and Blu-Rays have restrictions as well. For instance, you cannot legally show a dvd movie you just bought at Walmart on a big screen in your front yard for your whole neighborhood to watch. Also, ripping a movie or any DRM protected media product is illegal.

As for digital movies and tv series you own, there are pretty easy and legal ways to share them with family. One way is to use the Google family option. With this you can share your entire collection with four other people.

That said, the energy and bandwidth cost to stream an 8k video isn't negligible.

Make a charitable business that can help people start businesses that can be successful basically give people funding to start their own businesses so a single person can buy all the old business but it's no longer Monopoly because there is a lot of brand new competition that is more beloved nowadays than the old stuff was it's a smart business plan make sure the new companies are 85% of the market and all the old companies are the rest of the percent if I find out this is illegal then I won't do it and I'll just make successful original businesses instead if that other idea is illegal
