Debra Lynne Katz, MSW, is both a talented remote viewer and a psychic reader. She is author of You Are Psychic: The Art of Psychic Reading & Healing, Extraordinary Psychic: Proven Techniques to Master Your Natural Psychic Abilities, and Freeing the Genie Within: Manifesting Abundance, Creativity, and Success in Life. She is a parapsychology researcher, having twice received the annual Warcollier Prize from the International Remote Viewing Association for an outstanding research proposal. She is the director of the International School of Clairvoyance.

In this interview, originally recorded in 2015, she goes into some detail regarding the use of Associative Remote Viewing (ARV) for practical purposes such as financial speculation. She also describes problems that both remote viewers and psychic readers have with displacement, i.e., the detailed and accurate description of the wrong target or subject. And, she touches on the need for both remote viewers and psychic readers to separate themselves emotionally from their work.

New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in "parapsychology" ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980).

(Recorded on October 19, 2015)

RV changed my life. I developed highly detailed intuition from childhood trauma and the problem with that, aside from the obvious, is that I couldn't tell the difference between valid intuition and paranoia/neurosis. When you can't tell the difference between paranoia/insecurity and psychic information, you're spinning out of control asking yourself if you're crazy for having random thoughts that aren't indigenous to your life, or delusional for believing the input is real...and which one to believe?

Some intuition is especially confusing at first - for example: intuitive smell can cause you to suddenly smell your grandmother's rolls baking in the oven while standing in a parking lot because the person next to you just lost their grandmother. If you ever want to seem like a nutjob, ask the guy next to you in the parking lot if he can smell the rolls. BUT, it may also spark a conversation causing you to realize that *your* sensory memory is about *his* grandmother, and maybe that leads you to research the thing that changes your life. That's how it happened for me. Don't be afraid to risk someone thinking you're weird in exchange for confirmation data. Could have saved myself years of grief if I'd only had that courage.

RV is specifically designed to separate mental chatter from intuition, and that gave me my bearings again. Once I could tell one from the other, I not only became a confident intuitive, but I also healed much of the trauma by being able to identify those thoughts without self-depreciation, invalidation, or making them something they're not. I always tell intutives who've come by their gifts through trauma to try RV. The goal is to identify what is what, so even if they're not a talented RV'er, the methodology and daily training involved will help regardless. Plus, it's a really helpful tool for many areas psi life because it instills discipline, psi catagory strengths and weaknesses, data integrity, and enhances some totally different disciplines like mediumistic automatic writing. There are recorded classes on YouTube of full RV seminars, and if you Google search "Remote viewing targets" there are tons of sites that have them for free so you can follow along with the video courses with your own targets. I'm happy to help anyone with more details on how I trained or just as someone who's been through the fine art of cognitive awareness :)

I’ve found it amazing in Associative Remote Viewing ‘targets’ may often have surprisingly similar attributes - consider a rainbow 🌈 in a landscape compared with a present 🎁

The one classic reboot I would really love to see is that old interview with Michael Talbot back in the 90's (right before he died). That's one of my favorite T.A. episodes of all time.
