You should update the firmware to the latest version = V2.07. With this version you have a new slider INERTIA. Set it to HIGH. Release notes: • New FFB adjustment = INERTIA setting (available under FFB menu from user interface)
This screen lets you adjust the wheel rim's inertia.
There are four settings to choose from, ranging from no inertia to high inertia (OFF, LOW, MID, HIGH), allowing for more or less steering control depending on the game you are playing and the vehicle you are using.
This motor setting increases the wheel rim's inertia proportionally to the vehicle's speed. The faster the vehicle goes, the more the inertia increases.
High inertia increases the force required to turn the wheel rim (the wheel rim then slows down), thereby limiting oscillations in a straight line when using very powerful vehicles.

Warning: The Inertia effect is only functional in games that support displaying the vehicle's speed on the base's screen.

Why is everyone so harsh on an entry level dd wheel. I’ve got the T598 and its a great starting bundle. The sports rim isn’t great, but overall for a sony licensed wheel its a great buy for casuals.

It's the playstation user market that will help this wheel base be successful. It's closest competitor in that market is really the fanatec gt dd pro 5nm. Hopefully it's direct axial drive will be a game changer for budget baller sim racer's. Maybe see a 3.5nm DAD wheel base in near future.

So I just watched both of your videos on the wheelbase/bundle. I will have to agree that there is a subtle change in tone between the videos. 😎 But having watched both, I’d like to ask some clarifying questions. Did the girth of the base impede your view of the screen? How did the pedals work? Was the seam in the wheel noticeable or cause you to alter your driving style while in play? I did find it interesting that you said this ffb was better than the MOZA. Would you now say that the 598 is like a Miata, ugly to look at, but performs famously within its class? Thank you.

Honestly, if not for the fact that Moza came out with the truck wheel & stalks accessory which fit my "needs" & future rig idea well, I totally would go with the T598 wheelbase itself as an upgrade to my T300 as the wheelbase will be relatively cheap (quite cheap for a DD) & I also don't need more than 4-6Nm due to my health issues, so the T300 with its 4Nm already serves me well, nevermind a DD version of that

I have the T300RS and I'm wanting to buy the T818... will I feel a big difference?
Is 10nm enough? I already think the T300 is quite strong... in terms of vibration and track surface, is it quite remarkable?
I've already tried a 5nm Fanatec at "parties" and I didn't find a big difference in vibration and track feelings compared to my T300 greetings from Portugal!!

what about the rumours about heating issue ? heard about some units gets 90C, it will not last long with that

It's annoying it looses settings you select even between different games. Rotation defaults to 1080 degrees. I set it to 590 for Dirt2, then switch to EA Sports rally, and find the rotation is back to 1080.
The rim has sharp edges on the flippers as well as the where your thumb rests on the rim. I'm thinking of ways to smoothen that out, haven't made my mind up yet

These reviews are so out of touch with reality . People aren’t gonna be going from a r9 or something of that grade to this . Yall need to compare this to a g29 or t300 and say if it’s worth it . Hence the reason I don’t really like to watch reviews nowadays as yall comparing this to things more than 90% of people will never experience

Quite positive then. I’m considering this wheelbase stand alone when it goes on sale as I’m not interested in the rim or pedals. Currently have a tgt2 on ps5 and gt7 but Im also considering a bigger leap to the Logitech g pro. Just the cost is substantial. Great video very Informative.

Perfect video. I have one question, is better T 598 with 5Nm or Fanatec DD Pro with 5NM ?
