Aiming headlights on a Cadillac

2012 Cadillac SRX after installing new headlight assemblies its important to aim the headlights. This is an easy adjustment for the up and down. Best done at dusk or night. Need 35 total feet of flat level ground and a wall of some kind.

Always check your manual for how headlights should be aimed. There are national regulations just incase, but each car usually has their own specs.

Start off with the car running (headlights on), With the headlights 3 feet from the wall, use tape to mark a cross on the wall were the center of the headlights are. Back up the vehicle so the headlights are 25feet from the wall. Always from the headlight NOT the front of the car. Inside the engine bay on the back side of each headlight assembly is a small screw. This adjusts the headlight beam up and down. Check your manual on were the beam should be aimed. Adjust as needed. These headlights were brand new assemblies that were just installed. Interesting to see how far off they were.
