Obi Wan Kenobi but it came out in 2007

I've come back from an editing hiatus and thought I'd kick things off with a fun little edit. This trend is called "[insert movie name] but it came out in 2007." Paying homage to one of the best songs in the year "What I've Done" by Linkin Park (featured in the first Tranformers movie) and putting it in the end of every movie imaginable.

So I decided to do one for the Obi-Wan series. I put it on Twitter and it blew up so I'll put it here now and see what you all think. This is not my usual type of content, but not to worry, new tributes will be on the way!

Also, I'm taking a break from Star Wars tributes from the time being and putting "Kenobi Part 2" on the shelf for now. The next tribute will be about another character I'm very excited about doing and has never been done on the channel.

Until then, May the Force be with you, and see you soon!

“I am Obi-Wan Kenobi, and I send this message to any surviving Jedi taking refuge among the stars. We are here. We are waiting.”

It almost enrages me how perfectly Kenobi fits into this Michael Bay template.

This has no right to be as perfect as it is

You don't realize how much James Arnold Taylor sounds perfect as Obi-Wan until his voiceline is right next to Ewan McGregor's

Imagine a Star Wars movie/show actually having this kind of music lmao

“And in time a new hope will emerge” as he says “hello there” to the new hope is so perfect

This short video was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one

I would love this as the actual ending.

This works too well… WHY DOES THIS WORK SO WELL?!

What's great about this meme is that it doesn't rely on being surprisingly funny. From the first note, we know what the punchline is, and it just makes the whole waiting for it to come just so sweet. When the music syncs so well with the scene, and that lyric starts, it just feels cathartic.

This actually unironically makes the scene actually land for me.

The timing on the Hello There and the beat drop is beyond perfect, I'm obsessed with this video now thanks

I didn't even realize that not all the lines in here were spoken by Ewan McGregor at first, holy shit James Arnold Taylor is a good voice actor

I think that this perfectly showcases how close James Arnold Taylor got to Ewan's Obi-Wan.

Maybe I'm being biased because I'm a fan of both Linkin Park and Star Wars, but... Why does this work so well? 😂

"A new hope will emerge" then ending song is just simply perfect. It fits so well.

Now I can't wait for Obi-wan Kenobi 2 : Revenge of The Inquisitors.

Haha, in some ways Obi-Wan is really Optimus from Transformers. Awesome!
"Tatooine. I live among its people now, hiding in plain sight, but watching over them in secret, waiting, protecting."

"ERASE MYSELF AND LET GO OF WHAT IVEE DONNEE." This brought me back to seeing transformers in theaters and listening to this song. Blew my mind away. Linkin park was the GOAT band of the 2000s.

Man, this was so cool and so cheesy at the same time. In other words, 100% authentic 2000's
