The saddest thing is knowing he had sung this song thousands of times, and had now reached the point where the words couldnt be remembered...

He still had some voice left, but obviously reading the lyrics. So sad to see him unsure of himself onstage.

My grandfathers nursing home had a little concert with the staff and patients. My grandpa chose to sing this song, and he had a wonderful time. That same night, he went peacefully in his sleep with his favourite teddy bear in his arms, and was able to be with his wife again. Love you grandma and grandpa. ❤️

Just for the record, Sinatra’s last song he EVER performed was “the best is yet to come”. It was on February 25, 1995 for 1, 200 special guests at the closing of his golf tournament. This very well could have been the last time he performed “My way” but it definitely was not the last song he sang in public.

I was at that final concert and as much as I respected that man and his voice, I wished I had never gone. It was soon sad and uncomfortable to watch.
