My grandfather passed away from cancer today. He was a headstrong man that always provided for his family. He'd give the shirt off his back and his last penny to his family. Grand-dad, you took the blows, and you did it your way. RIP Chen Duan Shi 09/07/1942 - 10/19/2023.

To be honest, this song really touched me. I love how it encourages you to do things *YOUR WAY*, not listening to what others have to say, not listening to people who put you down, not listening to people who force you to go down a certain path they want you to. Do things the way you want, no matter what they do to try and stop you, nothing should stop your courage and determination for a goal you've set in life. Nothing should stop you from doing the things you love. Nothing should stop you from chasing your dreams. If you are reading this, stay strong and do it your way.

This song hits hard for me. I’ve been through many hardships in life, and rn it’s led to the moment where I’m 2 weeks away from graduating high school. Sometimes time goes fast, but I’ve taken my own path in life, and plan to do so in the future. To those who are reading this, I wish you the best of luck in life ❤❤❤

I just lost my father four days ago, and, not only was this his favorite song, but this was also him in a nutshell. He passed away at the age of 83. He fought through all kinds of illnesses; multiple brain aneurysms, kidney failure (in both) leading to dialysis 3x/week - from blood poisoning due to an IV needle not having been changed at a hospital visit, along with close to complete blindness and deafness. He worked really hard, having come from poverty, to succeeding all on his own - without anyone’s help (or as Frank Sinatra sings ‘without exemption’), even at the age of 83 not having wanted to stop with everything stock market related. He was a very stubborn man, but people loved him. He had charisma, he just had….that kind of personality that drew you to him, along with having left a great impact on many. He definitely lived his life ‘his way’, and will be remembered by everyone who knew him. Rest in peace, Dad ♥️

Backstory be told ngl. When i was a kid, some folks in the church noticed my talent on music. When i asked my parents and other family members that i wanted to learn music and its instruments, they ignored my request. So i self-taught every musical instrument near to me with everyone looking down on me. But here i am playing the bass with this song...doing it MY WAY!

I want them to play this on my funeral and i won't regret it.
