My gr gr grandfather was from Hannover and was baptised in the Aegidienkirche. He moved to England (long story!) and lived the rest of his life in Birmingham. I am planning to spend a week there before Christmas 2019.

The way you pronounced "Neues Rathaus" shook me for a second. It was bang on. Rolling the R like Germans is usually quite difficult for English speaking foreigners. Also the CH's were really good.

As soon as i heard "herrenhausen gardens" i wanted to mention i went there yesterday and i really enjoyed a place there called "Grotte de Nikki de Saint Phalle" it's a place with sculptures like the ones that you mentioned (i've been there too lol) and i also wanted to mention that you should DEFINETLY go to maschsee or kropke (i think that's how it's spelled lol)

Because that ist the state here in germany where most of the people live. There are about 18 Million people living here in NRW, and also the different cultures in our state are very different too :)
I'm living in NRW my whole life and it's fantastic to live here.
