Supreme Court To Hear Petition To Verify Votes With VVPAT Slips Today

The Supreme Court said today it will hear on April 16 a batch of pleas seeking cross-verification of the votes cast with Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT). The VVPAT is an independent vote verification system which enables an elector to see whether his vote was cast correctly. It generates a paper slip which can be viewed by the voter. It is kept in a sealed cover and can be opened in case of a dispute.

A minister in Mysore was accused of land grabbing by city commisioner(IAS).Then immediately that minister formed a committee all members appointed by him, it gave a report (I don't need to tell what was there ), based on report Ias was transferred.
Like that taking evidence from eci appointed by politicians to decide case on vvpat is no different.
Key stake holders are citizens not eci, they should be satisfied not eci. Cji should show his smartness here. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Technically, it is feasible to update the memory chip of the EVM machine without human intervention and swap the count of one symbol

to another using external, unknown signals. (e.g., swapping the Congress vote count for the BJP vote). So to address this issue in

this election, Instead of a 10% VVPAT slip count, increase the VVPAT slip count to 50% ~ 60%. If there is any mismatch between the

VVPAT and EVM counts, do a 100% VVPAT slip count (or) conduct re-election.



Furthermore, everyone talks about how tough it is to misuse this Japanese technology. But according to my experience with Japanese

customers (>20 years of experience), I can tell you that they are very adept at managing data.They can identify where to introduce

bugs based on the tested data pattern, and since we always sample at a maximum of 100 counts, the bugs will be introduced at a

very remote number that might be connected to an unknown equation. Such a data pattern analysis is already present in the

Japanese environment (Intelligence), but the human mind can never visualize such a circumstance.

So THINK!!! and be careful!!! Adhere to the right solution using available resources.

My argument is why the control unit is at the last where Adhikari will press the button for next vote..this is a loop hole. The control unit is to be used by the voter as a queue control..which can be misused as a vote control by Adhikari. Control unit should be used by voter as a first step in, then cast the vote in EVM and see the proof in VVPAT.

All major parties can identify 3 booths per constituency of their choice to check and verify VVPAT against Pooled votes. This may come around 15 on average per constituency.
Completely checking is waste of time, similar to ballot paper counting.
