Decontamination Package Series: C4 | 5 | 6 - AutoScrub & Clay

The 3rd step in the decon process is to AutoScrub and/or Clay the surface of the paint and glass in preparation for polishing. Glide is the lubricant I use to aid in reducing the amount of marring or scratching while executing this process.

AutoScrub has to be one of my more favorite products to use. Started to use it couple months back when I first saw you use it, Matt. Everyone really should pick this up, you will NOT be disappointed.

Yeah and I have this strange theory that the worst off or more contaminants on the paint the more you are Maring it, I still think White or metallic white cars hide it pretty well though..

Matt, any experience with Concours Purify Clay Lube? It is supposed to chemically and mechanically decontaminate all in one. It has the iron removal properties combined with clay lube properties and works well with a clay mitt. I usually wait for your verdict before trying these things.

What do you think of using a waterless wash as a lubricant or am I over thinking it? I see a lot of people use detail spray as a lubricant but I don't want to add anything to the paint before polishing it.

Todd at Esoteric just has a similar video yesterday and he said the same thing you did; that you only clay/nano if you’re going to polish after bc you will mare the paint. He recommended just starting with iron and doing a chemical decon first for cars that look good but have a “crunchy” feel. Is that what you’d recommend as well? I don’t trust myself polishing yet but I usually do the full Ammo wax process.
