They didn’t sell the Chevrolet Colorado in model years 2013 and 2014, that’s why there are no complaints lodged. It’s impossible.

I’ve owned the 2016 Colorado with the 4 cylinder turbo diesel and never had one mechanical issue in 4 years. I’ve towed and hauled heavy loads, never one issue. It’s fun to drive and gets around 30mpg highway. No complaints here.

I have a 2015 Z71 Crew 6'2" box with 110000km. Bought from new. Besides recalls that have been taken care of, this truck has been undeniably reliable. Both in the bush and back in the city as a daily and a commercial truck. Great truck!

At 2:20 you recommend the 2013 and 2014 as the best bets... however you should have done your homework and noticed that there WERE no Colorados for sale in north america as 2013/2014 model years.

Remember to NEVER buy any 1st year of a new generation vehicle. Wait a few years after they fixed all the kinks. My 2018 Colorado has been solid. Bought it at 30k miles and it has 93k miles now. Haven't had 1 issue and I beat the heck out of it on and off road. Love this truck! Brakes and MPGs are better than a Ranger or Tacoma.

Only complain I have is that the OEM leaf springs in the back are bouncy on the non zr2 models. Upgraded to the ARB OME springs and it rides on cloud 9 now :)

Wow, the 2015, the first year of the 2nd gen, had the most issues? Shocker...

Chevy addressed the engine and trans hesitation on the 2015. It took awhile (I think a year, maybe slightly longer) for Chevy to come up with a fix, but after they reprogrammed the computer it’s like having a new truck. No hesitation at all now, huge power instantly going up hills and getting on the freeways when pressing the accelerator pedal unlike when I first purchased it. The dealer recommended not using Costco gas or Arco and use Chevron. That made a difference with engine ping which was mostly noticed going up hills. Now with the engine/trans being reprogrammed and Chevron fuel (regular), my trucks runs smoothly.

I have a 2018 Chevy Colorado Z71 4x4 with 45k miles. My wife and I drove from Florida to Jackson hole wy in April for Yellowstone's first day to open. We stayed 6 nights in Jackson Wyoming and drove to Idaho, Utah, Montana, Colorado, Texas, Nebraska, and drove over multiple 12-14 thousand foot peaks in snow, because we've never seen that part of the USA. Traveled 5670 miles, in 15 days, and per my trip odometer we averaged 23.6 mpg. Zero problems and he'll of alot more snow than we thought we experience!

I love my 2016 Colorado and after 110, 000 miles it's still going strong, is reliable and looking good. I do typically garage my truck, so that may help. Since 2016 and 110, 000 miles I have never had to replace brake pads or rotors, and I tow a boat and jet skis frequently. I don't baby it and don't abuse it. My first set of Goodyear tires lasted over 60, 000 miles and my second set still has plenty of tread. I change the oil using Valvoline Synthetic about every 6, 000 miles, have had the limited slip differential serviced once, keep the filters clean and that's about it. In the beginning I had it in the shop for a lot for rattles, and interior panel alignment issues (I'm pretty picky about that). Once I had the AC quit under the extended warranty and the compressor had to be replaced. The transmission is reliable but is a little sluggish when downshifting, especially in traffic. Sometimes I put it in trailer mode to compensate and that works fine. I believe that the 8 speed transmission starting in 2017 alleviated that problem. Short of those few and minor issues, it's been a great truck and I highly recommend it. So don't let this YouTube video scare you off. Go for it.

2015 & 16 , have 6 speed transmissions. They will not break down on you or leave you stranded, they just are always looking for a higher gear for fuel economy. There actually good transmissions. In 17 and above GM went to the 8 speed with the 6cyl. (Not the 4cyl). The 8 speed is crap. Stay away from it. !!! The diesel and 4cyl still to this day, use the 6 speed, and it’s a good transmission. I have a 15, 3.6 ltr with 6 speed, 160.000 miles, daily driver, bought new, never had 1 problem with. It’s a great truck, contrary to what this guy says.

Still enjoying my 07 Colorado I4 with 127k miles. Out side of regular maintenance. I have spent $330 in parts. They are, passenger ABS wheel speed sensor, upstream oxygen sensor, thermostat and evap valve solenoid. All easy to fix yourself. It's a great truck! I'm hoping for 250k to 300k+.

Got a 2016 colorado with a steering problem. Never had an actual problem but something in there tripped some codes that have taken away my ABS. Other than that its worked amazingly. 83, 000 miles

I have a 2016. The first 40, 000 miles have been trouble free with no recalls. The sluggish shifting still exists when driving in town. That can be remedied by driving in tow/haul mode. It's like a different truck.

I can’t say I liked the way my 2015 Colorado shifted, definitely setup for max fuel economy with lots of lugging and hesitation to downshift. I switched to the 2.8l turbo diesel in 2018 and I couldn’t be happier. The shift points better match the low-end diesel torque 100%

I have a 2015 chevy colorado 4 cyl and its just fine. My truck has 64000 and I understand that a 4cyl chevy truck is not a high performance ferrari or lambo and that is why I dont spect nothing else out of my truck. Is not a perfect truck but Im happy with it so far. I Take care of it and maintenance my truck and its ok so far
