Bercow saying Gracias to an Spanish-latino journalist who works for the "English" edition of French tv Channel "France 24"... Quite a world we live-in ...

It's, of course, a requisite for a Speaker to be well articulated; still, it's still so refreshing to hear properly thoughts of a person so important and heavily involved in the politics of his own country. Feels like something out of a different era.

I like that he chooses his words carefully and is so articulate. He is able to observe the Brexit situation with clear eyes that are rare in the Parliament. I love that he quotes Sherlock Holmes, LOL.

Next to the Queen John Bercow is pretty much the only respectable public figure the UK can claim its own right now.

Although Harold MacMillan was a conservative PM, He went on to expand, after labour PM Clement Attlee left office, public services, the NHS, council housing etc . He was a conservative in his personal life, but was very much a man for the everyday majority of the British people .

No deal Brexit may be the best thing possible. It will bring the UK economy to it's knees, cause a change of government and bring the UK crawling back to re-enter the EU permanently for a stronger EU.

And a third? And a fourth?
This has to be (at least) a 2/3 decision.
But first, since a referendum never took place, the British voters have to decide if they want to *enter* the EU.

Leaving without a deal is perfectly legal - it stands in Law.

What is it about democracy some people don't like?
There was a referendum (at great public cost), there was a clear result, so it is incumbent on the people and the government to abide by the wishes of the majority.
The majority voted BREXIT, so just GET ON WITH IT !
Are people proposing to keep asking for another vote until they get the result they want?
Given that 90% of humans are stupid and easily led, this could go on forever!

You've got to love this guy! There are not many politicians with a brain in the UK these days, but he certainly is one of them.

We are leaving on 31st October, probably without a deal. We had a legally binding referendum. Even if all parliament votes against a no deal, we are still leaving without a deal. Very grateful that Jacob Rees Mogg is the leader of the house of commons now. He clearly states that the only way to stop a no deal, is to revoke article 50 or bring down the government. Neither will happen.
