It's a pretty sad time when the captain needs to be your daddy, because you can't behave like an adult on your own...

"Don't make me pull this plane over!!"

I was a bouncer for 10 years, and it never ceases to amaze me how alcohol can turn full-grown adults into children.

Perfectly said. Authoritative without being rude . That's communication skills right there!

That was the most polite “laying down of the law” that I have ever heard! Well done!

He really handled it perfectly. He was able to affirm then and correct them at the same time so they wouldn't feel attacked and escalate the situation

His tone was perfect.. polite and yet firm.. he definitely isn't joking. Well said Captain. It's a shame your having to tell adults to behave.. like a teacher with unruly children.

To think this pilot has to warn ADULTS to not get out-of-hand. I will never understand where common decency and just plain old manners have gone. I admire him for giving them a heads up!

"Those of you that have had a few scoops.. Great, fantastic." never heard that saying before. Well spoken.

I was cabin crew for 28 years. It should be noted that there is nothing in the Captain's job description that says he/she must come out of the flight deck, and personally address rowdy passengers. - He could have made the same p.a. from his crew seat, safely behind a locked, bulletproof door. Instead, he showed leadership, and trust in his F/O to manage the aircraft in his absence. He chose to stand face to face, in full sight of the offenders to show a level of empathy, but also raise their awareness about the consequences of their actions. His actions said to the cabin crew 'I support you.' It said to the other passengers 'I'm the boss, and I take responsibility for your comfort, and your family's happiness'. Passengers should know that the whole crew act as one unit. Cabin crew don't operate in isolation from the pilots. We conduct a briefing together before every duty. - Well done, Captain and crew. 👍

What a polite captain- but still got the message across of don’t cross the line or there will be consequences!!

Just like on a ship, the Captain is the final authority.

The Captain made it clear he was the final authority on his aircraft. If you want to make problems for him and his crew then be warned it won’t go well. This is how it should be. Bravo to him.

He must be such a fantastic dad, what a great and gentle way to be authoritative without any screaming or rudeness.

I have the greatest respect for this gentleman. He is protecting his crew, no one should go to work thinking that they are going to be abused. He also makes it clear that the passengers are the ones who have the choice or a good flight or landing in the nick. The expression 'a few scoops' was pure class.

This is like the dad who comes into your room during a sleepover warning your friends not to get too loud during the night

The commercial airline equivalent to dad saying “If you guys don’t cut it out RIGHT NOW, I WILL turn this car around!”
