Beetroot isn't a true dye but rather a stain. It would fade even if you used a mordant. Loved the final result!

Great color from turmeric. Wonder if you would get a nice hue from using Lavender stalks?

The color turned out lovely! If you want a more pinkish color, I've heard avocado skins and pits will dye things pink/magenta. I haven't tried it myself but it would be a cool experiment!

Turmeric infuses sunshine and vibrancy on everything it touches. This dress looks fabulous on you, Immy. I’m enjoying your trial, error & success journey with these DIY natural dying projects. Thanks for sharing, Ⓜ️ary💛🌼☀️

Boiling the beetroots for long won't really help if u only have the tops cut ...the pigment betanin in beetroots are present inside the beetroot cells ..the pigment only comes out when the membrane is damaged so chopping them into smaller pieces would help..
Either way beetroot isn't really a dye and more of a stain so it would fade with time either way

I once met someone that dyes fabrics for a living and the only thing I remember is never dye with beetroot as it goes grey!

Wait.. that’s so crazy because I had that exact dress I got online and the sizing was off and that second button broke so I donated it…. Shook

turmeric makes such a beautiful colour! you just need to be careful because the colour reacts to ph levels.
so if your sweat is a different ph than the products you use to clean the dress the sweat stains might dry red or orange instead of drying back to the colour of the dress

I love the turmeric shade. Great choice to try again! You are very creative Immy

Um heyy so since tumeric is a natural indicator there are chances that the stains from acidic and basic substances will have different colours on the dress.. i think there's something that people who use natural and vegetable dyes do to stop that from happening but I'm not sure what exactly it is. But can you make a video on it if those stains do show up in different colours??😂

You should try avocado seeds, I freeze mine till I have enough (takes me forever as I don't eat many lol) and they make a really nice pink color

If you can find marigolds, they'll give you a gorgeous orange or yellow color 😊

Unfortunately, the turmeric is gonna fade completely after 2-3 washes. I used it myself to dye some of my clothes and, not only did it not last, but it also stained some of my other clothes

pomegranate peels are actually a good use for a dye, but for yellowish shades. moreover tamarind seeds and rusted iron together creates black colour

When you boiled the beetroot you lose the color and destroy it in the water- I recommend ( as a cook) to cut the ends off, place them in a hotel pan and cover in kitchen grade plastic wrap 4 times and foil once . The plastic wrap is to seal in the moisture and the foil is the finisher. When it’s been in the oven at 400 for about 45 mins - you can remove them and let them cool and peel the beets. After I recommend adding a little water and blending them in a vita-mix on high and then pour that mixture thru a very fine sieve and you should get a texture less red liquid that you can then soak your dress in- please let me know if this helps and if anyone tried it ❤

Wow such a true yellow and it looks really pretty on you. I can’t wear anything yellow or light/bright green because I’ll look sicker than what I already normally look…

Marigolds are a good way. You get a bright yellow, but the turmeric is beautiful!

I would use a bigger pot, it will make moving the garment around easier for less patchy results
