Been there. Amazing place especially if you are with kids. A bit of a challenge until you get there but it is well deserved. The Phalasarna beach is amazing as well. It is deeper not very good for children but i've never seen a water so crystal clear like there. Don't make the mistake to go to Balos it looks great on pictures from above but it is an awful beach. And if you want to go the Maldives of Europe, this is Sardegna. La Pelosa is the most amazing lagoon I've ever seen but La Cinta is the best beach I've been to. Not only the beach is amazing but the food as well

Elafonissi is a beautiful place but it is a victim of its own success and has become very crowded. Even when I first went there in 1989, when the access was not as good as it is now, it was very busy.
