Hi. Great video with clear explanations. My question is how does the cell tower know which phone another phone is trying to get connected to during a call.

Thanks a bunch for taking your time to make this educational video. I've always been drawn to telecommunications and mobile networks in general. Currently I'm working as a network engineer with a specialization on WiFi. I've heard that cellular networks are a lot more complex than WLAN. Do you think pursuing a master's degree in telecommunications would allow me to transition into the cellular side of networking?

One thing I have read a number of times, is that these wi-fi 4 and 5 g towers are worth between $10, 000 in rare metals and $100, 000 on the black market. Here is my question, I can see people in the USA cutting those tower wi-fi units down. If they can catalytic converters out of cars, they will sure as hell cut down Wi-Fi 4g and 5g units for the metals. I started counting those towers and they often have 20 or more wi-fi broadcasters on a small tower. have you head of this being done - yet?

You mentioned 2 different frequencies for the handset to transmit and receive on. This is only true with full duplex. With 4G & 5G, half duplex is also often used. The advantage of HD is the ratio of up and down stream traffic can be variable, whereas with full duplex it's the same.

If a call connects to a tower in the next city, will it transmit to a new tower closer to the customer as it becomes available?
Is it safe to say that you can accurately place where someone is based on their phone pings?

What causes cell phone towers to go down? I'm with Cricket wireless and its been 4 days and customers cannot get through to Cricket customer service reps or we are not getting internet service or phone calls. What causes that to happen?

My business cell phone bills show that I’ve made calls from a tower 3 towns away when I’m calling from my home? Sometimes the bills show the correct location, and sometimes they show 2 towns away?
