The Dave White ad opening "This little girl is a racist" made me legitimately laugh out loud. It feels like an SNL skit that was picked up by someone with no sense of humour... or reality

Not born racist, taught racism! That mess is passed from generation to generation. So tired of people acting like they don’t know how that works.

I live in Mississippi which hasn't fully funded public education for decades, yet our legislature (overpowering Republican BTW), can't understand why this poorly educated population isn't attractive to high tech businesses. Covid is bad, no question, but I'd be more impressed if they cared enough to fund education in the first place!

High school English teacher here . Asked a question on learning history in our schools (in conjunction with Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime). Most kids in class said “it’s really important to learn it so we don’t repeat it.” One said “we get the dumbed down version (I said how about watered down?) but they know they just get the same basic facts over and over and no depth . They want to learn. This is scary

It is amazing to me that the argument against students being taught factually accurate history aka CRT by the "facts not feelings" crowd is feelings. They claim children will feel bad, feel guilty? When the truth is that they would feel empathy. So factually accurate history shouldn't be taught because the ability to empathize with others might be the end result? Really? Their whole argument seems bananas

I grew up in the 60 and was exposés to History of the South and a Racist Uncle from Texas.
Never and to this day have I felt "GULITY" for the Sins of my Forefathers in stead I LEARNED form their SINS and Chose to be a better human.

My questions for all these parents that are concerned about what is being taught to their children. Have you contacted your school's administration and scheduled an audit of your children's classes? If not, why not?

The war on teachers is insane. Under-paid. Forced to go back to work while the pandemic was still at its peak (many in schools without mask mandates.) Banned from being able to teach the truth. And now, banned from being able to quit—Unit 5 in Normal, IL has used a little-known state statute to decline the resignations of four teachers. This is unacceptable.

If anything CRT says we are NOT born racist, but that racism in established institutions creates racist outcomes: racists are made, not born. The point of learning about it is to make our institutions LESS racist.

Easy to guarantee CRT won’t be taught in schools. It already isn’t being taught in schools. The guy is actually touting being a hero for fighting something that doesn’t exist. I’m a hero too! I destroy vampires.

If a child is racist, they learned it from someone they are frequently exposed to- that’s usually the parents, so this ad is to frighten parents into thinking their child won’t be racist like them if they’re taught not to be in school.
