I like "Skyrim Better Roads SE" with all the plugins and also "Lanterns of Skyrim SE"

The combination of these mods make traveling by horse or foot feel more enjoyable (as I don't fast travel but by carriage like Gopher), especially at night with a darker nights mod. Edit: "Point the Way" is a road sign mod I would also recommend for those who don't fast travel.

Skyrim Better Roads also fixes some stuff away from main roads, like makes pathways that are on the map but you can hardly tell its a pathway in game actually look more like a path. It also fixes rocky stairs like the steps to High Hrothgar.

Yeah. This is why I hand pick textures from various packs. It's a tedious task, but for me it's worth it.

"aMidianborn Book of Silence" and "Rustic Clothing" are two armor/clothing texture mods that I can't live without.
Don't know if you want to change armour and clothing textures, but those are good ones imo.

Holy shit I've just been binge-ing Skyrim mod videos for two days straight now, and I was just missing Gopher commentating about mods. There's just something in it.
And then BAM, new Gopher video, and visual mods no less.

Bless you man.

EDIT : Don't think it's the distant terrain at Riften. I have no LOD mods, and I have the exact same problem. Sudden drop/jitter when facing one direction, like I get drops into 35FPS, and then after a while it just settles.

You may not want to load up our inbox but I DO!! I enjoy these as much as watching your Let's Play. You are teaching me a lot about improving the game. PLEASE, PLEASE keep these coming. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos!

It's interesting how much a texture change of something you have looked at so many times can enhance your playing experience, even if the old textures aren't ugly.

If you're looking for flora mods, I'd recommend using the old Skyrim 3D Plants 3.1.0 file under Skyrim 3D Trees in the nexus. The newer version couples the Trees and flora together but I use EVT so I only wanted the plants - personally I think this file is significantly better looking than SFO, and it pairs really well with Verdant.

An Gopher DynDOLOD install guide would be awesome :D

I appreciate these videos greatly because it suggests mods I can use for my own playthroughs of the game.

Gopher keep up the great work. I appreciate your open commentary and thoughts on mods which helps my own mods list development. It is a curse and blessing to have so many great mods from which one can chose (sometimes, I end-up being as bad as some of my friends are with cloths shopping [trust me, laughing at me, not them]). In any case, I thought I would share some thoughts.

On Roads, I find I go back-and-forth between *Blended Roads* and *Real Roads* (snowy roads are great) as each has their benefits and drawbacks. Although their are some beautiful mods, I tend to always go back to *Noble Skyrim* as my base mod because it is one of the best out [and 2K is more than sufficient for my needs] and given length of existence and popularity means a lot of other mods were designed to work with it. One example is how well it blends and works with *Majestic Mountains* and *Obsidian Mountain Fogs* (take some of the pressure of distant terrain loads though who knows... *Dyndolod* was impressive in your mod set). As *Blended Roads* and *Majestic Mountains* are created by the same author they share a lot stylistically and work well which tends to get it the nod.

With regard to village homes, I find so many great options though I tend to focus on wood, walls, and roofs. On my current under development list, I am using a combination though I have not settled on it yet - *Skyland - Towns and Villages* (for nearly all farmhouse component elements as this does not tax my system which is a good one), but am thinking of overwriting the stonewalls from *Idyllic Farmhouses* (which is a nice farmhouse mod alone, but I prefer skyland for wood and roofing) because I love the river stone walls in *Idyllic.* I would also suggest looking at Rustic Windows which is extremely popular in large part because it works so well with *Noble Skyrim.*

In any case, I hope this might help as you formulate what works for you... as I know it will be great. All the Best, ~T~

I use SRO as a base and the install Noble Skyrim over top of it along with my other texture mods. There are still quite a few files from SRO that are not overwritten by the others. I also prefer the wood textures of SRO over Noble Skyrim. Using MO I just hide the textures from Noble Skyrim so that the SRO textures are seen for the wood. I believe you are using Vortex and I'm not sure if that is possible or not as I have not used it. Another good wood texture mod is Realistic Wood Effect.

I highly recommend Colored Quest and Capital Map Markers. It makes it so your current objectives (only those) on the map are a soothing mesh of blue icons instead of grey. It does NOT color everything so it wouldn't feel cluttered. It really helps with quickly figuring out where you're going.

For the next mod video, have you thought of something like Poisoning Extended? It adds a UI element that tells you what poison you have on that weapon, as well as allowing you to apply multiple doses of the same poison at once through a hotkey. It also has an interesting side effect that has some use, which is applying potions to your weapons. Stick a fortify one handed potion on a shiv and lightly cut your follower for the effect to apply kind of stuff.

Royal Armory would also be a fun one, having certain NPCs carry their own unique weapons can be something you look into, although Mercer's unique weapon has already been lost at this point

"SSE Engine Fixes (skse64 plugin)" will take care of your Riften FPS problems. It solved mine completely.

Well it's all about personal preferences of course but honestly I prefer Noble's Skyrim and also agree with you, when you're an old hand at Skyrim it's good sometimes to have a bit of change in how it looks, helps keeping things fresh
