Показать описание

Evan Hansen is a teenager who struggles with severe social anxiety which makes it hard for him to make friends and connect with other people. His therapist recommends that he write letters to himself detailing what will be good about each day.

Before the first day of his senior year in high school, his mother, suggests that he makes new friends by asking people to sign the cast on his arm.

The original Broadway musical won both a Grammy and a Tony, particularly for Ben Platt's fantastic performance. The musical and lyrics have helped start discussions and awareness of mental illness and youth suicide.

YOU MATTER!

Lyrics to "Waving Through a Window"
I've learned to slam on the brake
Before I even turn the key
Before I make the mistake
Before I lead with the worst of me

Give them no reason to stare
No slipping up if you slip away
So I got nothing to share
No, I got nothing to say

Step out, step out of the sun
If you keep getting burned
Step out, step out of the sun
Because you've learned, because you've learned

On the outside, always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been?
'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass
I'm waving through a window
I try to speak, but nobody can hear
So I wait around for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass
I'm waving through a window, oh
Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me?

We start with stars in our eyes
We start believing that we belong
But every sun doesn't rise
And no one tells you where you went wrong

Step out, step out of the sun
If you keep getting burned
Step out, step out of the sun
Because you've learned, because you've learned

On the outside, always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been?
'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass
Waving through a window
I try to speak, but nobody can hear
So I wait around for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass
Waving through a window, oh
Can anybody see, is anybody waving?

When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around
Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound?
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around
Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound?
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around
Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound?
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around
Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound?
Did I even make a sound?
Did I even make a sound?
It's like I never made a sound
Will I ever make a sound?

On the outside, always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been?
'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass
Waving through a window
I try to speak, but nobody can hear
So I wait around for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass
Waving through a window, oh
Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me? (oh)

Is anybody waving?
Waving, waving, whoa-oh, whoa-oh

His acting was so natural! This is my favorite song from the musical and he enacted it perfectly! Like, nobody can beat Ben Platt in this but this Evan stole my heart too!

I have autism and social anxiety. I am on medication for it all. Waving Through A Window is the perfect song to tell my story. You nailed my lack of eye contact, my nervous speech, and my constant apologizing.

The part where he talks to Zoe is so perfectly done. Like it’s the best thing I have ever seen! Especially the part where we tries to ask her if she can sine his cast and he just ends up saying “oh who said that I don’t know” and then starts mumbling! It’s so great!!

This is a highly impressive production. I've seen Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, and I think Porter is perfect here, vocally and performance wise. Come to Broadway, Porter. You'll be a big hit here.

I’m not even exaggerating, this is much better than the actual movie. The creative directional choices actually show here.

The part where he says "Did I even make a sound? Did I even make a sound? It's like I never made a sound. Will I ever make a sound?" just hits hard for me. As someone who has trouble explaining feelings to other people and as someone who is afraid of saying the wrong thing so they just stay silent just hits home for me. And also, it's hard for me to talk to people when no one really pays attention to me or talks to me so staying quiet is easier for me.

HIS ACTING IS AMAZING I NEED TO SEE HIM AS EVAN!

The part in which he’s standing with the marker attempting to ask for someone to sign the cast nailed the character in my opinion .
The final hallway scene in my opinion is have everyone in a time lapse and “evan” walking though the middle of the hallway alone to further emphasize the isolation, but this was exceptional

Just saw the movie and I'm gonna be honest, the direction and editing on this was so much better! Great job!

Guys, I've been rewatching it for months, like so much of the other videos. You're amazing, and I'm happy to finally be able to tell this at the comments. Congrats from Brazil, from someone that has always been waving through a window.

What a lost opportunity that the Working With Lemons full crew wasn’t tapped to do the full movie version of the play. The film version has fallen flat, and it’s sad to say that. In these Working With Lemons clips, we get a sense of just how great the film version of the play might have been. I suppose that’s a fine accomplishment for Porter and the rest of the crew to have given us. The direction, staging, acting, singing—all were superb. Porter was Evan.

First Evan has an amazing voice second I really hope that people that feel like they don't matter will get help 'Cause we are all matter and it's just so sad that people are just so blind and so selfish this is the biggest well one the biggest problem people never see that some people are feeling not well and when they noticing them it's too late. People need to be better people need to do better. I really glad that people getting help. We all matter

This was so lovely done! Good job on the whole team. Everyone already mentioned the very capable Evan actor, so I want to mention that the Zoe actress immediately came off as this likeable warm girl a lonely high school boy could essily crush on. I believed it! Thanks for putting it all together!
