Protests erupted across Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Tuesday night following the sacking of Israel's defence minister, Yoav Gallant.

Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced that he was firing Gallant as 'trust had cracked'. Gallant and Netanyahu had differences over the conscription of ultra-orthodox Jews to Israel's army and how to retrieve Israel's hostages held by armed groups in Gaza
