We polled some taller drivers around Kelley Blue Book's halls for their thoughts on what makes a car accommodating for taller folks. At 6 feet 4 inches tall, KBB car reviewers Andy Bornhop and Michael Young have tallied plenty of bruised knees and head bumps over the years, climbing in and out of cars. Their insights revealed to those of us in the middle of the height curve some of the compromises tall people must settle for when picking a vehicle. This is exactly the kind of content we want to see. All cars technically are the same, wheels, radio, steering wheel. But I don't fit in all of them

One example of unexpected tall person problems: the new Lexus TX. The steering wheel controls are contextual, and show only on the HUD. But the HUD is angled too low for me (6’5”) to see. So the entire steering wheel controls system is effectively useless.

It’s not always about fit - a problem I have with a lot of convertibles and sports cars is a low front roof-line that makes it hard to see traffic signals with the top up, or due to the roof. It’s why I never had an Audi TT.
