We both have ADHD and Autism in our house, the way we tackle Christmas is:

No gifts. We generally buy what we want/need at the time and buying things for the sake of it just makes the place more cluttered. In the weeks before Christmas we put together playlists of christmassy music, movie watch-lists, dig out some old hobbies that lie forgotten across the four corners of the house and plan to enjoy them together.

We generally have the energy for one Big Thing each day, so we do our Christmas Cooking on Christmas Eve. That's our activity, and we can chill after it's all done. The following day, Christmas Day itself, the cooking is already done and you only need to reheat it. More time and energy for Fun Christmas Activities. Boxing Day is Visit Day, and we still have leftovers to just bung straight in the oven when we get home.

No decorations, or minimal decorations. I would not take them down, ever. We use scented candles, music and coloured lighting with only a handful of other, small ornaments. Takes five minutes to put out and put away.

I have no family at all. I changed my last name and moved away. They are pure negative and told me I had Problem
I'm nasty etc.
I went out along and got my Autism and ADHD diagnosis.

Christmas this year will be moved into a new home with my rescue babies. I will cook. Christmas dinner for each of us as we watch Christmas films and I count how many times they rugby tackle the tree down lol.

I can't handle the stress and omfg. I love being single and alone with my babies

No humans in the way and I'm finally on the correct medication.

I can for the 1st time in my life say. I'm happy being me. 🥰🥰🥰😻😻

I love your videos.

Lol.. Yup I have everything on my visual phone calendar reminding me to do everything.

Merry Christmas everyone xxx

Last year I gave the gifts in the Amazon boxes they arrived in. Classy. This year I only just remembered to order gift bags today.

The gift bag idea has literally just saved Christmas for me! Never thought of doing that, I literally have to set aside a whole day just to wrap presents! Thanks for the great tips. Merry Christmas to you and everyone else. 🎅🎅❄❄🎄🎄

Love your vids! Super helpful tips, especially the gift limit I went a little crazy this year. (Also wrapping presents is a nightmare after a few attempts I got my friends to do it for me haha)

I think I'm going to have a talk with my family before the next Christmas to not buy presents. I just want one year where I don't have to stress about it. (Buying for everyone, not forgetting things, and then trying to find room for things gifted to me)
It sounds so selfish, but every year is so stressful that I dread the holiday every year.

I actually enjoy gift wrapping. I choose one evening fo it and put on a favourite dvd, or some Christmas music, and just have fun. I have a cuppa to hand, and a snack and hyperfocus. Of course, if the phone rings, i tend to have a bit of a tantrum on whoever called, so i can text people beforehand: hey, I'm wrapping gifts. Don't call this evening, please.

I don’t think many people realise that having ADHD means every day is a work day, even if you can’t hold down a job😂

Does anyone know if you should have notes of what issues you have if you try to get diagnosed? Or go in unprepared? I don’t want to assume I have it too much if that makes sense.
