I love my 201XD. It was my first TIG box, and has helped me learn lots. This channel has helped even more, especially when you guys keep an ear to what we’re doing out here, like you do, and show how to use the equipment we actually own.

For the people who keep asking about this unit, it hasn't been released to the public yet. From my understanding it will be soon but they tend to send machines to certain people to try out before the public can get them. AHP and Everlast always do this.

Got the older model and it's good for the little welding that I do! I've been happy with mine so far! You're giving your old one away and someone is gonna get lucky!

WOW! It has the same housing as my Everlast 210EXT, but with an LCD digital display (even my 210EXT doesn't have that). At $800, it will continue the AHP tradition of being a best entry AC/DC TIG and even the best full-featured AC/DC TIG value-wise. I mean, my 210EXT has waveforms and other advanced features, but this new AHP is only about half its price. Yeah, my 210EXT is quiet too. And the AHP includes a Roto torch too! WOW!

What are you going to do when the digital screen fails, or the screen plastic yellows or scratchs beyond legablity, or the toggle button fails. Yes it may be cool and a little more precise but every time you want ot check the stting you have to toggle through the menue. Call me old school I rather look at the knob to see my settings from the weld table. Replacing a control knob is something I can do at way less cost than replacing the LED screen/compurter boards.

Just bought the new 225xi and I’m still wondering if I made the right choice over the 203. The digital is cool but my logic was I used to tig on Miller welders from the 80s and 90s and never had any issues with the knobs. Plus I would rather have the extra power and I believe it the STICK max is higher as well. Both seem like great machines and I can’t wait till mine arrives!

Just not-so-humbly opining: 60 secs into an excellent video and we already started going through a beginner confusing set of menus! Right there is why the analog pots are better than the digital menus for the beginner: At the same time, you get to see all the options and how setting their ranges affects the arc. Once you're a pro-sumer or advanced, a digital menu is not a hindrance on the learning curve. And if you need to come back to the settings, grab y'er phone and take a picture. --An inverter will weld what it's designed to weld! But can the weekend warrior beginner better access the inverter's ability due to the new digital menus?
