I've been thinking an alternative to companies having to increase worker's wages and drive up prices, we could create a non profit that raised money in many ethical and creative ways and then subsidize all B.C. worker's wages that are less than a living wage...and that organization could pay a living wage to their employees.

Sounds good on the face of it, but in actuality, it will drive up labor costs for those food delivery companies, they will pass on their increased costs to their customers, fewer customers will be using food delivery apps, so in the end, food delivery workers will receive fewer orders.

Everyone knows that 8 out of 10 Canadians are far better off with Justin's carbon tax rebate. Why would they need a raise, are they the other 2 out of 10?

Skip is pretty fair, Doordash is absolutely a joke of a company. This hourly thing I won't do cause I already have a job this was a side gig when I felt like it, the faster I move the more I make. No more for me. This is a gig work type job, it's not meant for full time at this point.

Gig workers need to be cautious. There is no much future with this jobs. Relying on laws is not a solution to have an income (politicians are bought).Robo taxis will be a reality. I am not a tech early adopter by any means but evidently companies have made significant strides towards making autonomous driving a reality. Worst this is this big companies do not hesitate to adopt new tech. Profits that uber/lyft are making will be used to shift business model to autonomous vehicle & overnight all this drivers will be made jobless.
