Hi Amy. Cool video. Pretty much the same preferences as me. One thing I will say is that I do you use White Spirits on the Strathmore Grey Tone to blend coloured pencils and it works quite well as long as your brush is blotted on a tissue first so it isn't too wet. I want to try the Bristol 500 series plate surface and also the Stonehenge, but it's a little expensive. I have yet to get to grips with the Fabriano and the PastelMat, but do have them. Great video. I'm quite enjoying the Strathmore mixed media toned papers. Also the very smooth feeling of Fabriano hot pressed studio watercolour paper. I haven't tried the artistico yet. I need to explore Canson Mi-teintes more as well because that gives a nice texture for a specific result.

Never had a problem with Strathmore toned paper - both original and mixed media - for charcoal. In fact it is my go to charcoal paper. It grips more than you think and the charcoal soaks into the paper more than others I have tried which means less fixative needs to be used. I guess it depends what result you want.
