You're probably one of the best artists out there. Thank you for giving me the idea to buy how to draw comics the marvel way

The cotton content really makes the biggest difference in my experience, cotton paper feels very different, especially if you have a realistic style or work with lots of gradients and wet in wet. It takes some getting used to but then it works so much better

For anyone curious, the “lbs” or weight of paper is how much the team of 500 UNCUT sheets weighs. So you make 500 sheets of paper, trim them to a specified size and weigh it, then you cut the paper down into booklet, sketchbooks or printer paper.

That’s how it works, pretty simple!

I love how helpful Scott is!! I did a lot of sketching and painting growing up, but I never really cared about the supplies I was using since I was 6. I just wanted to finger paint! But now the older I get art is making more sense. I stopped doing “traditional” art and moved onto digital art, but it’s still great to know that even paper has a role when it comes to painting.

"aquarelle" does mean watercolour in French, thought I'd just confirm it for you.

At first I thought "Why is he drawing the flag of Lithuania 🇱🇹?"

Wow that’s really helpful Scott, I love your content so so much, you are what inspired me to work harder on my art. Your my favourite artist and right now that water colour tip is just what I need, you see usually I am a digital artist or acrylic paint user? so thank you for this ❤️ your an inspiration and I love what you do so much.

Your videos are the perfect balance of informative, aesthetically pleasing and personally engaging. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your self! My favourite videos are the ones where you admit your limitations and dislikes. Multi-media artists feel pressure to master all the media, and you reminded me that we don’t have to enjoy or master the tools we don’t align with.

I agree that acrylic is yuck on paper, but it’s delish on canvas!

*favourite video included your mom and her work* 🤗🤗🤗

Thank you!!

Even though I don’t do art very often, your videos are still very fun to watch! Nice video :)

I didn't know you painted jinx! Just the small bit I saw of it was beautiful!

I am so happy I found you! I am just starting to dabble in water color. I hated it in school because my brain didn't want to wait for stuff to dry and add layers. I was in too much of a hurry to get a piece done. But I was gifted a small sketchbook and paint set and I really wanna try now.

Canson has always been my go-to brand for most of my drawings. I love how they have something for everyone while still maintaining that quality. I like how even their sketch paper is thick enough to handle light washes for quick sketches and mixed media

Thank you for explaining this! I was halfway though a college watercolor class before we were taught the importance of using the right paper, my work improved dramatically. Word of the wise, use Canson over Strathmore.

I started a watercolor journal because of your channel, and I have a lot of fun using the Artisto cold-pressed, 140 lbs. 8"x5" watercolor paper. It's inexpensive and has a lot of tooth. Great for using sketch colored pencils, Zebra pens, and lots of layers of bright watercolors.

I have never drawn a day in my life and have no interest in doing so, but this guy's videos are still good af

Thank you so much for this!!! I'm new to water color and I've been struggling with finding the right paper to use and I was tired of wetting through thin paper. I'm so glad I came across your channel 😁
