"It is not my job to heal the university. That's the job of the people in power who created this situation in the first place."

She waited for UNC’s apology and job offer before rejecting them 😂

Always go where you’re appreciated, not tolerated ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

This could be discouraging, but it's encouraging .

Nikole is TIRED. We are TIRED of the second-hand treatment, being the last thought, having our work not valued, etc. It is entirely embarrassing, that a woman so accomplished as her, who has given so much to her alma mater, would be slapped in the face by them essentially.

She’s bringing $$$$ 15 million minimum to the table . Wants to get $$$$25 million to help out other HBCUs . Certain brothers & sister must be protected at all cost . She definitely qualifies.

They really didn't want her and she doesn't want them. She is going where she will be valued and appreciated. Good for her!

It's amazing that just speaking the truth about slavery and civil rights is driving so many people to show their true feelings on race

In tears at the end. She is bringing her name, experience, humanity, integrity, and a 15 mill bag. Come on! In the words of our beloved queen, Mrs. Lauryn Hill, "You just lost one. You just lost one!"

Lets face it: Universities and colleges in the U.S. have lost their way, they are compromised at so many levels. We need to stop telling our children that they must go to college, or that college is the way to a better life. If we stop enrolling, only then is meaningful change likely to occur. Universities have become businesses, and it's time for the customers to go elsewhere, perhaps online, to further their lifelong education.

"I decided I didn't want to do that anymore." I hear that sister. I am so proud of you.

Clearly, the faculty and university administration supported her hire. But trustees and donors always have the last word. What must be done to remedy that? They shouldn't have so much influence on the educational system.

Nikole has nothing to prove to anyone. Her work speaks for her. And it's UNC's loss, not hers. Bye, Felicia! 🙄

Okay....so this is even worse to me now learning that UNC is her Alma Mater !???? What kind of phuckery is that?!
That's really unfortunate - this whole good for her for refusing the bull....

I'm glad she's going to Howard University where she'll be appreciated and respected. She is correct on the Revolutionary war preserving slavery, coming off the Somerset case in England. The colonists knew the wind was blowing in their direction.
