I learned it in Db with out the tritone subs that through me off and lydian dominant is still new to me but it was fun I squeezed pretty good lines out of it

Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walkin'
And when she passes, each one she passes goes, ah

When she walks, she's like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes, each one she passes goes, ah

Ohh, but I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her?
Yes I would give his heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at him

Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walkin'
And when she passes, I smile but she doesn't see

Ohh, but I see her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her?
Yes I would give his heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at him

Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walkin'
And when she passes, I smile but she doesn't see
She just doesn't see, no she doesn't see
But she doesn't see, she doesn't see
No, she doesn't see

I can’t comprehend why everyone plays this in key of F. All the recordings from the 60’s Astrud sings it in E flat. Every one I can find anyway. But you try to look up chord charts for this and it is always in F. Maybe most singers or players find it easier a half step up, I don’t know what im missing here. I am not busting on your video. It’s very well done. Quality work! Just wondering why really. Any other musicians ever notice this?

Olha que coisa mais linda
Mais cheia de graça
É ela menina
Que vem e que passa
No doce balanço, a caminho do mar
Moça do corpo dourado

The Gb7#11 chord is actually played with a #6 and not a 7 from what I hear in the track. Is this the right way to play this chord? With a #6 rather than a 7th? Let me know if anybody got a clue 😂 i’m trying to learn something from this so just curious if my thinking is correct and just spotted an error or can this be explained in another way?

Replace all the G7s for G7#11. Same voicing as Gb7#11 but up a semi-tone.

The Gb7#11 at the end of the bridge works as a substitution, but is more properly C7b5b9

the Am7 in den middle part is a substitute for Fmaj7, even the melody note is a bb --- the Am9 (with the b natural) sounds all wrong !

Put it on 1.5 and it sounds like elevator music!
