We hit 1/3 of the year and I thought it was time for me to update you on my reading so far! Here are the best, worst, most surprising and most disappointing books I've read in 2020 out of the 25 books I've read! Also letting you know how my reading challenges are going... What about you?

What are the best & worst books you've read so far in 2020?

If a review starts with "I think this is supposed to be a horror" and ends with "My uterus has shrivelled up and died, multiple times" you know that's a book you need to avoid.

When I'm feeling kinda 'meh' about reading, I just watch a bunch of booktube videos. Weirdly, it helps me get back on track. Hope you find something that does the same for you too. ☺️

I'm in a huge slump right now. I read less since the confinement than I did before.
So a couple weeks ago I decided to look into books I had already read for a nice, fluffy story I could just breeze through. I went with a re-telling Cinder&Ella, then found the sequel and read that.
Now I'm re-reading the Hunger Games, and then re-reading Harry Potter.
2020 is the year of the re-reads for me. I just need that, like comfort food and an nice hug all in one package ^^

Every year I put a goal of 24 books. I always read closer to 70-80 but having a number to push to is counter intuitive to me personally. It's just nice to see the number and to have done the minimum I'd want to achieve. Go easy on yourself, you'll still do great things!

Never clicked on a video so fast!
I've read 23 books so far (yay!) and my goal is to read 50 :)
Best: Children of time (I have to thank you for that one), The Witcher book 0.5, Rika's Outcast book 1
Worst: Bent Heaven, Sadie
Disappointment: Red White and Royal Blue, All the stars and teeth (which was still okay but I expected a 5star), Come Tumbling Down (it's starting to feel meh...)

The house in the cerulean sea is the sweetest and kindest book i've read so far this year. it really helped with my stressed shaky ass, i'm so grateful. it's all cotton candy fluff with sprinkles of hard hitting topics that pierce you at random times. the romance is slow and mature and mostly in the background, but it added so much more to the story. i really loved this book.

Worst: ninth house by Leigh Bardugo (a good editor could have helped a lot)
Best: If we were villains by M. L. Rio, a mix between The secret history and Shakespeare! Amazing read and flawless writing style

My reading year so far has been great! I finally read Mistborn Era 1 and I get why everyone loves it now! Although i think it isn't my favorite series by him, i think i still prefer Skyward and Stormlight Archive. I also read everything Murderbot related and absolutely loved it! I'm sad that there isn't more.
And i started reading the Wheel of Time and I really enjoy it, i'm currently on book 3.
As for most disappointing... I can't actually think of something lmao
