One of my worst book this year was iron flame. For me this book was just filler, and it became obvious how the author expanded her idea of a duology in a 5 book series

unable to capture into words how much i despised magnolia parks: the long way home. hofas was comically bad, the ending… with the portal part… it’s physically impossible that they survived that i’m still pissed off actually 😭

As someone who is both autistic and asexual I get SO irritated how often authors seem to code characters as one/both of those without ever actually saying the terms so that they can skate by if the representation is bad by acting like they were just making a “quirky” character. I’m so over it. Tbh Ali Hazelwood does it too and it bothers me a lot, much as I love her books.

I was just about to add The Rom-Commers to my TBR, but I might have to take it off. That feels like it wouldn't be my cuppa. I didn't like Thoughtless when I picked it up years ago.

I didn’t read as much as I normally do this year, but thankfully most of the books were pretty good. The worst one was also the first one I read. This Spells Love. It was too smutty and the characters were underdeveloped, and the protagonist was insufferable. The ending felt cheap and unearned.

my worst books were probably the foxhole court (what a mess that was with such cringy writing) and the maid too, it felt like everything was happening to the main character and she was so passive through the whole thing

my worst books and only dnf’s this year were hooked and assistant to the villain. i just couldn’t get into them and was so confused why soo many people raved about them especially hooked it was so irritating 😭

I can't speak to the rep in The Maid but the ending was one of the most perplexing things.

I think Wolfsong was my worst read this year. Cannot get myself interested in a book where the love interest is 10 for like 40% of the book.

In comparison to other years there wasn’t many books I actually disliked. The worst books for me were probably Drowning Erin by Elizabeth O’Roark and Lies and Weddings by Kevin Kwan

i think my least favourite read this year was the cheat sheet by sarah adams !! i'd heard really good things about her romances, but i don't think i've ever found a main character more insufferable. the romance wasn't even good
