Nightmare Cafeteria was pretty damn unsettling when I was a kid, almost as much as Bad Dream House. It's too bad very few Treehouse Of Horror shorts are that scary.
Also, Halloween episode, Castlevania music. Good touch.

I always thought that the original tree house of horror was the creepiest Halloween episode ever especially 'bad dream house'.

The scariest Treehouse of Horror to me is the one where Bart has the twin brother named Hugo. That episode made me think I had something in my attic and I don't even have an attic!

No joke, as a young child, this episode's intro managed to scare me so much, I burst into tears and ran upstairs to my times

Good point. Although the Mr. Burns alien from The Springfield Files always scared the shit out of me.

The original TOH was good, and certainly set the benchmark. 'Bad Dream House' and 'Hungry Are the Damned' are good, though I have to admit 'The Raven' can be a bit of a slog to get through in terms of it not featuring many if any traditional 'Simpsons' jokes... and yet I love that they dared do it and experient with it.
The original TOH episode isn't perfect but it is very good. However I would say that it wasnt until the classic TOT2 (possibly my favourite of all of te TOHs) that things REALLY got kicking. But from such an early era when things were very "down to each", ever allowing for the 'dream' explanation for each segment, I love that the series dared go there and try such a thing, setting future templates on so many levels! (Or course, nowadays every regular episode of 'The Simpsons' seeems to be a far-fetched, fantastical tale on the TOH level... but back in the day these were something to be cherished!)

The Raven is my favorite tree house of horror segment.

To me, the thing I'll always remember about this episode, is how Marge gives a genuine, unironic content warning a plea to the audience to make sure kids don't watch it, when it is undoubtedly the tamest of all the Treehouse of Horror episodes (at least in terms of graphic violence)... Not that Marge doesn't try to give content warnings in later Halloween specials, but there's usually a bit of self-awareness to them, whereas this one is completely straight in Marge's genuineness.

One of my favourite Treehouse of Horrors since it’s full of classic moments. I’ve never actually found any of those episodes creepy, asides from that one where Flanders gets hit on the head with a bowling ball then foresees the deaths of anyone he comes into contact with

This show is the reason I can recite several verses of the Raven (not the ones the show skipped) and why it's my favourite poem. I much prefer Edgar Allen Poe's poems to his short stories.

I agree with you. The first one more of Horror and others playing for comedy.

In just discovered your channel and I just wanna say that I really like what your doing with these reviews. If it's not too much trouble, Do you think you could do a review of Homerpalooza? I've been thinking about that one a lot lately and I think the things it brings up in regards to the culture clash between modern music and old music still rings true today.

Just curious, this was a great segment, with its own intro, but... will this come back? And if you say that it'll only be a thing for halloween, then covering all halloween episodes is unavoidably impossible. Not that covering all episodes was ever a possibility, but... eh, just a thought, maybe next year you could do 1 halloween special per week. You'd make it ahead of time and all. Sorry, just thought I'd offer some ideas.

Bad Dream House & The Shining are my favorites. The later TOT episodes are just unwatchable.
