Bruford looks great. I'm happy for him that the Yes band which has been so up and down for him is able to complete the circle.

I think there is a lot of resentment on Steve's part with the whole ARW thing and I don't think he is that fond of Trevor Rabin (calling him a "shredder" in the past). It's unfortunate that he feels that way (I am a huge fan of Steve Howe and he has been a big influence on my playing), but he did kind of DIS the hell out of Jon Anderson when Jon had serious health issues (instead of waiting for Jon to recover, they basically fired him, brought on Benoit David to replace him, went on tour, recorded an album, etc.). Honestly, I think Steve has always thought HE was Yes (despite whoever else was in the band at the time)...I always thought that, where Steve certainly has been an important part of Yes' music, Jon was the irreplaceable one. Anyway, it was great to see everyone on stage and playing despite it all, (even though Bill chose not to perform...he was still there and that was fine with me, as, Bill retired a few years ago).

Having had the pleasure of seeing Yes, featuring Anderson, Rabin & Wakeman in March, I look forward to the 50th anniversary tour. If Steve cheers up a bit and gets onboard, fine. If he wants to continue to be a stiff, then let him play with his Yes tribute band, because that's really what it is. Note-perfect, but pretty much devoid of any real feeling. Just my opinion, of course....

Jon is funny. Actually there will be Yestival later this year but I think only the current line up of Yes is participating with that.

Yes should do another "union" for their 50th anniversary. Call it their farewell tour and have their last gig on August 3, 2018. Fifty years to the day of their first yesshow!

Love those guys...But there was a very strange atmosphere between them. Anyway, YES deserved this induction!

Thanks also to Trevor Horn who was involved later and made some damn good records with Yes.

Honestly I thought the Tsongas DVD was their last high point. The shite treatment of Anderson and the band splits since have ruined it for me. Glad they got in though, long overdue. Geddy looks like he had fun.

So Bill showed up but didn't speak at all ( we knew he wasn't going to perform )? And what happened to Tony? He was inducted but didn't even show up? What a crashing disappointment this was...

Steve was irritated before heading in there. AWR clustered themselves around the podium for the induction, and had a plan to go to each other first. Alan forced his way in there after ARW unhesitatingly tried to go from A to R to W, pushing his way in after R called out W. When Steve finally went, it was off to the side away from the podium, and he finished his part of the speech making sure to say that he, Chris, and Alan kept the band going. Then Rick did his dirty joke schtick which the crowd enjoyed but Steve hated, Steve displayed the same body language you see here. So take your sides with this or that backstory or whatever, or not, that's for you guys to decide if that's something you want to do. The induction wasn't a disaster by a longshot, but there was some awkward tension a fan could pick up on for sure.

I will say that I saw the performances and I felt that Rick and Jon had to have it their way! and they got it!!! what a shame they could have done three songs... "Roundabout" as the line up that played it however, include Billy., "Owner" with ARW include Alan and their bass player as a finally; "I've seen good people" with current Yes line up whomever else wanted to play... simple... Hate their ego!!!! simply hate it!!

got a feeling Steve Howe was desperately wanting to talk about Chris Squire, but was overrun by the comedians in the band.

I've no doubt that some will have read my coments elsewhere on the YES issue. Chris being absent isnt right, the band should have been inducted years ago. I cant help but question if this is a blessing or a curse. Some see Jon Anderson asbeing YES. he has been an important part of YES for sure, but he was thrown out of YES by Chris Squire, going back to the Drams days. YES went on to prove it could survive without him. His return to YES was due to Chris Squire allowing him back. Later, YES had a lot of live commitments that Jon could not cope with for health reasons. It ws killing him. So for his sake and for the sake of YES it was best he call it a day. as for Rick Wakeman, I have always found him disappointing. Why? because he has persistently chosen to leave. His prefeence has always been elsewhere. Trevor Rabin preferred film music. That was why he left. Of the three only Jpon has had the YES commitment. Steve Howe left wand was punished by Chris. "Not needed." Steve learned where his heart is at. It's with YES and he has chosen YES over Asia. Alan White has always been solidly behind YES. So what we have today is a YEs that Chris put together and former members who like the YES fame. AWR are not YES and only Jon deserves to be with YES if his health will allow it. The other two are just kidding themselves and the fans who just want to hear Wakeman and Anderson. As they have left YES, they remain former members.
