When I worked for Harmony House, Troy, MI, I had the pleasure of meeting Mike Pinder, a consumate gentleman, .
He came to our corporate office to shake some hands, and to sign copies of his new CD, "Among The Stars".
All of a sudden, it occurred to me that I was talking to the man who played that amazing piano solo on "Go Now", and what a pedigreed history he has as part of the "British Onslaught" of '64-'65.
He also talked about the mellotron, and I could have listened to those stories for days.
I asked him where he'd been all these years.
He replied that he'd been in CA raising kids, away from the roller coster ride that is the music business.
I was fortunate enough to see The Seventh Sojourn" tour, his last, and to witness the power and majesty of that group.

From the first time I heard "Threshold of a Dream" played in its entirety by Scott Muni on WNEW FM New York, I was a Moody Blues fan. I always went to the record store on the first day that their newest album came out. The Moodies have given their fans music to love for a lifetime. Congrats to them.

My love for this band goes back to 1967. I saw them for the first time in 1971 then again in 1974 with Mike Pinder. Imagine my horror when we went to see them in 1978 and Mike's familiar Mellotron was missing. I've seen them a dozen times and every time I can't help but think how great it would be to hear Melancholy Man again live. So when they we announced as 2018 inductees I thought my wish would come true. But not only didn't he play it appeared he wasn't even allowed to speak. Beyond disappointed. They've never been the same without MIke and Ray. I agree, him being there is the story. Where the hell is Mike Pinder!!!!

this was one of my father's favorite bands of the 70s so then I listen to it as a little boy and growing up in his adult was my favorite and then I passed it on to my son to this day this was the best move music ever made

I think the guys made a big mistake with the fan base by not having Mike speak. So his son says he was warmly welcomed. Whoopi. They get inducted and one of the founding members is treated like this. And John constantly directing him where to stand. -EDDY C

Finally in and congrats to the Moodies. Only wish Mike Pinder could have spoken. Also glad Ray Thomas got a nice ovation! Rip Ray! Also Patrick Moraz deserves credit for taking over after Pinder and during there second amazing career run in the 80’s

Denny got to speak and he was only on the first album; Mike was there for 10 years and John prevented him from going to the mic. You can clearly see Denny and Mike confused as the others walk away.
WTF!

The way they dealt with Mike Pinder really pissed me off. Literally shoved aside while a stage hand made sure the mic was removed. Real petty bullshit. Thanks for diminishing a great moment!

I have seen the Moodies a few times, my brother knew Ray as well. They were a truly great band.
I was very annoyed how they treated Mike Pinder on the night though I think that there is still friction between Graham and Mike from the Octive album.

Then I heard the singing and realised that they are well past it now. Johns voice has totally gone and even when I saw Justin last year he was struggling to reach the notes, he even asked us to help out on a couple of songs,

It's a shame the RRHF left it so long to induct them as 5 years ago they still could really pull it off. Maybe if they had let Mike join them on the night you would have got that lovely bottom end voice that use to be so much part of the band. Just my opinion

ABOUT TIME!! RRHF has finally earned respect from me. I think Mike should have been up there as well. As far as in concerned, he and his "Pinder-tron" are what gave the Moodies their unique sound. Although it was my understanding he has something like dementia. Don't quote me, but I thought I heard something like that last year. I also think not even mentioning him and Ray was shameful. Even if Mike didn't speak, he should have been up there and he should have spoken up during the acceptance speeches as well.Ann Wilson gave the best induction introduction I ever heard.

The "these three are the only Moody Blues that count" stuff is tiresome after all these years of slighting Mike and Ray. They didn't have a family member for Ray Thomas at induction, they don't let Mike Pinder get up there and even wave if he can't talk-I'm amazed they even let Denny Laine stand up there with them.
